-Glavenus: Tail grinding spin, tail sharpen, & roar *There is currently a bug that plays only for when Acidic Glavenus uses the tail-in-mouth then double tail slap attack, on which the primary grinding sound plays. I have looked at every alternative I can think of to ensure that the sounds play correctly for the tail grind spin, tail sharpen, and Acid Glav's tail grind slap, but this attack has to be compromised to have the have all grind sounds play with the correct timing while playing on the correct location.
-Rajang: Full classic voice (currently excludes some sounds that are very specific, unknown, or that very rarely occur), correct pitch on roars and beam sounds.
-Kushala Daora: Roar
-Deviljho: Roar
-Zinogre: Death roar & second tripped/clagger wheeze/squeal (both sounds have now been replaced)
Version v2.1
--Main--
-Fully rebalanced every sound to be normalized around MHW's volume. *Because of the scale of this mod (667 replaced sounds as of v2.0) there are certain to be some sounds that are noticeably loud/quiet. Please let me know if you find any.
-Added classic monster roars/sounds for Rathian/Rathalos, Teostra, Lunastra, Zinogre, & Rajang. -Current additions (more to be added for these & other returning monsters with later updates) -Rathian/Rathalos (& subspecies): Pre-roar & roar -Teostra & Lunastra: Normal roar, rage roar, taunt roar, & sweeping fire breath -Zinogre: Normal roar, both charging roars, releasing electricity roar, & tripped/clagger wheeze/whimper -Rajang: Normal roar, rage roar, pre laser beam, & fire laser beam
--Misc--
-Added alternate banks to mute the notification sound entirely.
Version v2.0
--Main--
-Fully repackaged the mod into the new MHW: Iceborne banks.
-Rebalanced the most noticeable sounds that had their volume changed for Iceborne. *There are still some sounds that need to have their volume rebalanced, but the worst ones have been fixed.
-Replaced the new Iceborne hitsounds. *There are now different hitsounds for Iron weapons & for Bone weapons. *Currently, the classic Iron sounds (from previous updates) are used for both, but I will test and add classic Bone hitsounds in the future. *In Iceborne, there are new separate hitsound that play exclusively for hitting monsters, but I haven't yet found where they are to change/remove them.
Note: Any other sounds added in Iceborne have NOT been replaced, now that the repackaging is done I will begin doing so.
--Misc--
-Greatly decreased the volume of the canteen cheer gesture/tent tea pot placed sound.
-Decreased the volume of the canteen cup placed sound.
Version v1.3
--Menus (UI)--
-Majorly changed the primary UI confirm/back sounds, resulting in many improvements: -Classic accurate sounds when specifically making a confirmation, opening a sub-menu, and going back. -Repeated sounds on confirm/back fixed. -Repeated and loud sound played when a radial menu item was selected fixed.
-Decreased the gather notification sound beginning volume to be less harsh. *This helps especially when the game plays the sound twice when gathering certain items (eg. new item, ammo, fish)
-Other minor UI sound volume adjusted to properly match all other sounds.
-Item pouch menu opened sound added.
-Changed the sound made when other players post a chat message to the one used in the 4th Gen. -Makes it much easier to differentiate standard notifications from chat messages.
--Weapons--
-Added back the classic longsword hit sounds, but fixed the abrupt ending that could sometimes occur.
-Decreased the volume of the longsword hit sounds very slightly.
--Misc--
-Added drinking/swallowing sounds (used for edible items, drinking, canteen, etc.)
-Slightly changed the timing on the small edible eaten sound to properly align with the swallow sounds.
-Increased the volume of the steak/canteen eating sounds to properly match all other sounds.
-Added some missing Rotten Vale ground collision sounds.
-Decreased the crawling sounds to properly match all other sounds.
-Decreased the gathering dig sounds to properly match all other sounds.
-Added alternate bank to remove both the primary notification and the gathering notification sounds.
Version v1.2
-Added option to download only the primary banks or the alternate banks.
-Re-added the small edible eaten sound. *Note: this sound also plays twice when using powders, and is the reason for it's initial removal. **However, an alternative bank has been added to remove this sound entirely once again.
-Decreased the Gunlance overheat volume to match all other sounds.
-Updated the Gunlance wide shell explosion sound.
-Decreased the canteen cutscene bowl sipping volume to match all other sounds.
Version v1.1
-Added some minor sounds.
-Adjusted the volume for dozens of sounds to match all other sounds.
-Added pitch shifting to some action's sounds to be be more accurate and fix the monotony.
-Lowered the volume of the beginning "notification" part of the gathering sound to make it less noticeable/piercing.
-Fixed gathering sound cutting out when collecting next item too quickly. *Now only happens much less severely (only the end reverb) on uncommon occasions while using the MH1-FU version, most notably when mining.
-Removed gathering sound when picking up slinger ammo & monster tracks. *Related and necessary to fix the above bug. *However, when a well-done steak is cooked, the sound now plays alongside the steak finished theme (though quieter than the cooked theme).
-Fixed monster track discovery level sound playing later than the notification's appearance.
-Temporarily removed the small edible eaten sound. *Was playing when using powders, a compromise will be added soon.
-Combined the longsword hit sounds with MHW's to make them blend properly with all other sounds.
Version v1.0
Initial release
Classic Monster Hunter SFX Pack v2.3 The 3rd set of classic monster sounds including voices for Yian Garuga and Nargacuga.
There are still some things to improve, but thought I'd let people know it'll continue to be updated, since the mod's release 1 year ago from today. Check current changelog for new additions and the previous changelog for other additions.
Know that the functionality of this mod totally depends on whether Stracker's Loader has been updated for the latest MHW version.
This is an extensive sound effects mod that replaces many sounds to their existing classic Monster Hunter equivalents, ripped directly from the originals' files/soundtracks of the highest sound quality games in the series for the best available quality. Menus, items, weapons, monsters, cooking & Poogie themes, hit sounds, and many other misc sounds!
NOTE: The video shows only the most notable changes, there are currently over 600other notable and minor sound files replaced throughout this mod.
All feedback is greatly appreciated!
Installation 1] Install Stracker's Loader here: https://www.nexusmods.com/monsterhunterworld/mods/1982 -Please make sure you've install this correctly and that the loader is compatible with the latest MHW version before asking about functionality issues either there or here
2] Extract the .zip file.
3] Locate your Monster Hunter World Steam installation folder. Steam Library -> MONSTER HUNTER: WORLD -> Right-Click in games list -> Properties -> Local Files tab -> Browse local files...
4] Place the "nativePC" folder inside the "Monster Hunter World" Steam folder root that you located in the previous step. -If unsure, see images for confirmation and match the directory.
5] Enjoy :)
Optional Files 1] Open the "Optional Files" folder and select which files you'd like. -Use the included "Bank Documentation" file to know what each sound bank replaces.
2] Copy the desired file, navigate to "nativePC -> sound -> wwise -> Windows", and paste it inside. 3] Rename the pre-existing file by adding "[original]" to the end of the file name (without replacing the .nbnk extension) and move it into the "Optional Files" folder.
4] Rename your chosen optional file in the "nativePC" directory exactly like the original by removing the [bracketedSection]. -It must be named exactly as the original/name given in "Bank documentation", the game will only read files with exact names it recognizes.
Troubleshooting THE SOUNDS AREN'T LOADING Ensure that they are located in this exact directory (check images): Steam\steamapps\common\Monster Hunter World\nativePC\sound\wwise\Windows
THE OPTIONAL FILES AREN'T LOADING Ensure that they are named exactly like the original/name given in "Bank Documentation" and placed in the correct directory.
FAQ "IS THERE A WAY TO ONLY HAVE ________ REPLACED?" Most likely, check the "Bank Documentation" file to see what each sound bank replaces, then keep only the ones you want in the "Windows" folder and remove the ones you don't want. Full customization is not currently possible.
"CAN YOU MAKE A FILE THAT ONLY REMOVES/INCLUDES _______?" First, check the "Optional Files" for the existing commonly requested custom sound banks to see if the file you're requesting already exists, then check "Bank Documentation" to see if you can simply remove the files you don't want. After you've properly checked, then you can request a custom sound bank, as long as it isn't extremely specific and it seems like something many others would want/are asking for, I'll make it :)
"WHY HASN'T ________ BEEN REPLACED/ADDED?" It's most likely that I'm still in the process of / havent gotten around to researching/adding it or that I've simply forgot to add it, but many notably missing sounds are because: -No unique sound that has an equivalent in MHW to replace (such as egg/cannonball jingle, rust/ancient shard jingle etc.). -Weapon types originally used sounds unique per weapon &/ very low quality. -Attempted replacement breaks the sound bank (file saving issues / file type not currently supported). I hope to add anything I can that's currently missing in the future.
"WHY DO SOME SOUNDS PLAY/DON'T PLAY WHEN THEY SHOULD/SHOULDN'T?" Some actions (such as rolling with a specific weapon) don't have the sound file I replaced attached to them. It is currently not researched how to change the properties of sounds, such as when/where they play, and so cannot be added :(
