Now that Safi is back, I tried it out on the Safi'Jiiva custom quest(don't worry, the status buildup is exactly like your tweaks, 250 base + 200 buildup with 950 max), and it's not too shabby, elderseal procced about 4 times throughout the entire fight with my using Alatreon DB + Dragonseal boost at average dragonseal. The HP for the custom quest was about 20K, the entire fight took me about 25 minutes, so not too bad at all. Though, it still took me some time to drain his energy pool.
One thing I've noticed is that even though Elderseal is still like any other status buildup, the speed at which it builds up, is like ridiculously slow. For example, if I shoot a 300 blast bow into a monster, the blast status builds up at least in the double digit numbers per hit, whether it's 26,34,47 or 56. But with Elderseal, it's a single digit buildup, like 1, 2, or 3 per hit. Unfortunately, that alone makes Elderseal weapons way too underwhelming and ineffective. I might try some tweaking and play around with the values a bit.
Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but Elderseal is still garbage even with this mod, and it always will be without some very low-level edits. The issue with Elderseal isn't the buildup amount, or the amount of aura it takes off. The issue is that Elders quickly become immune to it. Elderseal is treated like a status condition like any other, meaning that even if they don't have an aura to reduce, it'll still proc and push you ever closer to the immunity threshold. With this in mind, your changes actually make Elderseal useless faster. On top of that, Elders can simply ignore Elderseal entirely, because every Elder Dragon in the game has at least one action that builds up an entire level of aura, most commonly their roar. This means that even if Elderseal procs, the Elder in question can just restore every bit of aura you just shaved off in mere seconds, effectively making the proc pointless to begin with. The only way to make Elderseal viable would be an edit at the exe level that converts it from an instant proc to a duration status similar to poison, which prevents the Elder from building aura while it's active. This is, obviously, not a trivial task, given the mechanics for such a status don't actually exist. Without such a change, Elderseal is effectively pointless, and in fact can be considered actively harmful to combat as weapons with Elderseal typically sacrifice stats in other areas to account for it. As it stands, there is not, nor will there ever be a reason to use weapons with Elderseal for Elderseal.
...with all that said, I do think that your changes are an improvement on what the base game offers. At the very least, it'd take Kushala a bit longer to render melee attacks entirely moot if you don't manage to headlock her.
Hasn't been working for me. Don't think I really need it ether, since elderseal removes auras anyway, although monsters will often just reapply it right after (Vaal Hazak, I'm looking at you). Now if this mod caused elderseal to completely remove and prevent monster's from being able to regain their aura in exchange for a much greater buildup required, then yeah, I'd use it/that.
Just don't use it with random players online. You will not get banned, but it will decrease the joy for some other players which should always be avoided if possible.
im looking at the files, you didnt change elderseal, but only changed how elders are affected. I'm trying to check so i dont accidently overwrite all the other skill mods i have.

does this means wepons with low elderseal will have a disadvantage?
