Hi guys, author of the mod here. Please read this message before posting or messaging me :)
Really nice to hear that you're all concerned about the future of this mod (so many messages!) so I figured I'd make a post to explain the situation. Modding the game is really difficult at the moment for a number of reasons.
Tools to extract the files that the game reads (like the shop lists) are very experimental for now due to Capcom encrypting the chunk files that the game uses. Fortunately, I've been able to get a hold of the shopList files that Iceborne uses, and at first glance it should be trivial to update the mod for Iceborne, as the format is mostly the same with a few minor changes that have been applied to most files in Iceborne.
However, Capcom has disabled the loading of anything but models and textures from nativePC, which means that modding as we know it at the moment cannot work. The game simply ignores any files that are placed in nativePC, so even if I could update the mod for Iceborne, the game wouldn't load the mod. Note that regardless of whether or not you have the actual Iceborne DLC, the Iceborne game update received by everyone still has these changes, so modding still won't work for you.
At the moment, I'm waiting for the brilliant researchers over at the MHW modding Discord to get the lay of the situation and come up with a solution. Until then, unfortunately this mod won't function. I can't give an ETA because I really don't know how long these things will take to work around.
Just know that I'm trying my best, as are the wonderful people on the Discord, to get modding back for Iceborne. I'll keep you all posted. If you have any questions, drop them down below and I'll give them a look over and add any salient answers to this post.
some native pc mods work. ubergrainy has some hair mods that use the native pc folder. just fyi also theres this site that is working on cheat engine use in game https://fearlessrevolution.com/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=9923
Honestly, it's pretty awesome! I bought it on PS4 too but kinda gave up for a few reasons (my own time constraints, low FPS, lack of mod support) so I'm planning on getting into it properly on PC.
Thank you for the communication! I knew it would take time, especially since most modders are working on their free time, but it's nice to know what's going on.
No worries, take your time, we understand you have to work around what the game allows and have no control over what it does and does not load.We will look forward to when you can get the mod running, and in the mean time thank you for communicating the issues and not just leaving us in the dark.
Thank you for the updates <3 Do keep us posted as we really love your mod and (cant speak for everyone) I really appreciate the amount of time and effort your putting into this. Thank you and do keep us posted <3
@JKKingOfChaos, Unless I'm mistaken, the game has been updated whether or not you own Iceborne. There's ways to force Steam to download an older version of a game, however: - It's possible his save won't work if he already launched the game post-Iceborne udpate - it's also possible he won't be able to log in
Thank you for trying to make this mod work again. I can't wait! Please change the title in the meantime though, not everyone reads the comments. I'm sure I'm not the only one that tried some pages before checking here :/
Thank you for taking the time to post this! I have been checking back here every so often to see if it got updated that's a shame to see Capcom go ham on the encryption. Nonetheless your support is appreciated!!!! Cheers mate.
The mod author isn't bypassing any restrictions. Like I said, the game still reads textures and models from nativePC and the light pillar mod is essentially just a model swap mod
I'm going to start removing any comments which just ask for me to update the mod to Iceborne as there's a ton of them down below that people can read that probably cover whatever you want to say in your comment, and this big PSA should answer everyone's questions. Hope that's cool with everyone
So the mod is gonna be updated?!! Nice!!! for me, all no-esthetic mods were dead, so i'm really happy to know that :) Thank you and all the moders for your efforts we love you <3
I would love to see this mod work again. It's an amazing backup measure if your game crashes. Great way to get hours worth of items back. Thank you for all your hard work! It is very much appreciated<3
Another thank you for the update post here. It's nice to actually hear from the mod authors instead of just sitting around wondering if they're even still playing the game anymore. Hope you have fun in Iceborn until you figure things out!
Sorry to disturb you but i couldn't help notice that this is now tagged with iceborne compatible, I still love your work and hope you enjoy Iceborne just wanted to point it out.
Can't wait, because master rank requires you to grind like crazy. I have a life, a job- I don't have the time to grind a billion things to get the set I need just to handle end game master rank ...
With Iceborne adapted/updated mods springing up, its a good sign we'll be seeing an update to this one, definitely. Thanks for your continued work on this!
I put 1300 hours into Ice-borne while playing on PS4PRO with Samsung 860PRO SSD. The game runs 1080P targeting 60FPS. Lack of Mods did not stop me from having so much fun. Now I'm replaying entire game from scratch on PC at 4K 60FPS max settings. I <3 MHW
Hey champ, love your work. Here is a link to a mod that allows you people to use the NativePC file again. Maybe this can help you, I've seen a mod similar to this up and running using this.

i have the most recent update which is nearly a year after this. i renamed the file properly and all but its still not loading. do i have to reach a certain point in the game? i just started the new file after coming from console and just got the shop unlocked.6
Can I just ask then - Why did they add another anti-cheat program to iceborne recently that has caused a lot of negative feedback on the steam reviews? What exactly does it achieve?
Despite vortex claiming to be capable of being the only thing you need to mod MHW, it does not seem capable of modding anything outside of the "...Monster Hunter World > nativePC > pl" folder
That means this mod, as well as other mods that affect shops or just about anything outside of visuals will have to be installed manually. Also, if you having trouble with a black screen, try running the game from the exe file instead of through Vortex. Sometimes vortex's play button will start working after doing this.

Texture and model replacements still work, just not anything else
Updated the post so it's 100% clear

Very clear explanation :)
Thank you for your work on this amazing mod already, and here's to hoping you will find a solution.
In the meanwhile, all the best to you!
Hope to hear from you soon
Cheers!

That's why Stracker's Loader exists. https://www.nexusmods.com/monsterhunterworld/mods/1982
That's not to encourage you or any other players, though - just stating facts.
