Awesome! Iceborne made cb literally a crap. Monsters became faster and more tricky but some weapons were still too slow. Iceborne directors should see this and realize how lazy they have been
What's the meaning of placement when you are too slow that you can't use any strong attacks. And what about predicting? You get hit because of the delay after you attack. Well, there are some users who are good at slow weapons, but I don't want to waste my time playing with retarded weapons. I'd rather use other weapon or play other games
@crankjack1 No he's actually right. These animations look a lot better and gives the class more options. However if the devs did this for CB they'd have no choice but to add more animations for other classes as well. They opted not to do that. Hence laziness.
they did rework in a similiar manner cb in GU with brave cb and axe mode was trash anyway without proper knowledge of the monster, animations in axe are still long even with this mod, if you can play with this mod you can play even vanilla cb, you need to know what the monster is doing anyway
Prolly Irrelevant but, Been using CB for TA since base world, and I love it. being able to love it means i can see the flaws of the weapon, and definately CB needed a rework, It has a hard time keeping up with other weapons on how slow its recovery frames are example, AED was sold to be faster than SAED but the recovery is almost the same. Alot of match ups that are good in paper are just decent at best, example Furious Rajang, CB in theory was good here, but the fact that you have a hard time getting flinches and staggers, you always end up trading hits, unlike other weapons like IG and SNS, they can deal damage and be safer. And even if i wont use this mod, its still something capcom should have done as CB really needed something and not just savage axe, ty for listening/reading.
I think it's more of an issue of the weapon being entirely feast or famine with it's all or nothing playstyle being the unique draw of the weapon. The "Use your guard points to create openings to counter attack monsters with your strongest attack!" playstyle, and really the draw of the weapon, doesn't work nearly as well when monsters in general have smaller openings and being a bit more difficult to stagger. Savage Axe kind of remedied it by giving more power to the non-committal parts of the Axe portion but in turn almost completely phased out the main draw of the weapon, guarding and SAED, from its play patterns turning it into a weaker Switch Axe.
Like all weapons in the game, CB has a number of playstyles that allows it to fit into almost any situation, but most players ignore all playstyles except whichever one they learn first. Some people think CB can only be played Savage Axe style, some people think it only works with SAED spam, some think you need to guard point every single attack that comes at you etc. The reality is that you need to learn how to use the weapon and how it fares against your current matchup. It's the most skill dependent weapon in the game and requires more knowledge than any other weapon to use, but it is also the single most versatile weapon in the game, offering extremely good offensive and defensive options for any situation, being a good choice for elemental damage or raw damage and can even bring impact damage if you want it. You need to know when you have time to commit to a big animation, you need to know your optimal dps combos to use when a monster is downed, you need to know how to properly manage your phials and charges, you need to know how and when to use certain moves, how to cancel SAED into Savage Axe to save your phials or into standard AED to save phials and time. If you feel like the weapon struggles against certain matchups, it's because you either haven't put enough time into learning the weapon, or you haven't put enough time into learning the monster, and you probably need to learn different ways to play the weapon too.
CB is so f*#@ing risky to play against Fatalis, commit to any strong move and if RNG decides to f*#@ you over fatalis will fireball or fire cone your ass to cart. It doesnt help either that in practice you cant play CB at its fullest because you either play savage axe or saed but not both because one mechanic cancels the other, savage axe drains your phials overtime so you have to manage that, but saed drains all your phials at once... canceling your savage axe. Need to recharge your shield? too bad, you have to trade savage axe for that too.
Good Mdd but the most important problem I think is that if hunter get hit during an Amped Elemental Discharge, he stand up in ax mode. Also CB's wound motion is too bad.
When I try to guard twice with guardpoint character doesn't guard, but attack. Can you change this command or delete this motion and simply make AED a bit faster?
I searched for the word "boomer." My English could be unpleasant because I am using a translator and I don't know how to speak English. I'm sorry. I expressed that this mode was difficult to use because I felt it was unsatisfactory and impractical.
yep, tested it out, kinda weird combo's but it feels great seeing them, fluid and doesn't really disturb the original gameplay, more of a 'extra feature/skips' just like greatsword gameplay. 8/10. the confusing/unnatural combo is weird to remember. would recommend it as soon as you start playing CB to get a natural combo progression or as an experienced player for a 'cheat sheet' and seeking for more quicker/fluid gameplay.
Exactly how much can you change with the movesets of weapons? I've been thinking about a way to rework the S&S to make it a little less stale to use, but it might not be possible for what I want. Also kinda want to see if it's possible to change a few things in this or add new inputs.

You either suck or you just hate the weapon.
>4U CB
It definitely got some new stuff with the sliding slash, and I enjoy the hell out of cb, but it would be nice to feel a bit more fluid.
But the real problem with CB is that axe mode stands up.
be in a wound motion
Also CB's wound motion is too bad.
"Please check the picture for changes."
