I downloaded the cosmetic only file and it works on the armor mods, shows the buffs but does no dmg to myself when I attack. The thing I noticed thought is that whenever I draw my weapon I gain 10 of whatever element my weapon is using and my natural health recovery stops. I didnt see my affinity changing when drawing my weapon though.
So the mod doesnt seem to be compleetly cosmetic only. Could you fix this or is it not possible?
Edit: Think I got the elemental bonus gone now, dont see an increase when drawing my weapon. Cannot find a way to get natural recovery back though.
Yeah, I've had this problem in the past and due to how the formula works for it, it needs to be as close to 0 as possible without directly setting it to 0 otherwise you end up with negative stats for elemental bonus, so you may end up with a very small elemental damage boost between 1-10, but it rounds up. That was the only fix I could figure out for it at the time.
As for not getting natural recovery, I'll have to look into it.
Negative stats for elemental?? I changed them to 0 but my weapons showed the correct elemental stat they had like before. Or does it not show up in character info when its negative?
And yeah would be appreciated if you could fix the natural recovery. Stops when you unsheath and also Immunizer does nothing either at that point.
I've updated the mod to set the elemental bonuses back to 0. There should be no increase in elemental attack (I did simple quick testing comparing sheathe/unsheathed number with the different setting and saw no change when setting it to 0), however, I'm pretty sure this caused issues in the past, I used to have the cosmetical version in its own mod but have since merged and deleted the old mod, so I no longer have access to the comment discussion that I had about this problem.
The formula for the stat bonuses seems complicated and can be affected by more factors such as elemental boosting skills and hidden element. its possible when taking these into account you will end up with negative stats or other erroneous results, so any feedback with images if possible is appreciated.
I did discover that the natural recovery is simply part of how Safi Seal works. The debuff you get when the weapon is drawn prevents all natural health recovery, therefore Immunizers, Astera Jerky, and Recovery Up decorations/skills are useless to counter it. Only when you sheath your weapon does natural healing come into play again.
Unfortunately, I could not find an obvious line in MHWEditor that can change that aspect, unless its found in a different file that I'm unaware of. There are a few unknown lines tied to the Safi Seal skill but the numbers applied to them don't seem like it could lead to that. So sadly its just a minor inconvenience we'll have to deal with while using the mod.
the same! i try Safi Seal Cosmetical Vers.both 1.04 & 1.05, elemental reduce from 990 to 890, actually the damage decrease too(from 193 to 174). i have upload some pictures(chn. ver)
seems like the cosmetic option is busted, when using a weapon like the SnS of raging brachy, it shows that my nitro is NONE, and it actually doesn't proc blast stats, so that's a shame
Could you please provide more details about any decorations/skills you have, especially those that could affect Elemental status. and images showing the stats while drawn/sheathed if possible, thanks.
Sadly, I see the same thing for me. Took me a while to figure out that this mod was what was causing my paralysis to not work. I had no elemental/status skills other than the free element/ammo up. Everything else was raw damage skills. After disabling this cosmetic mod the paralysis started working again just perfectly. That being said, I have no idea about blast working or not working, haven't tried that. Also, I tried a paralysis LS that didn't require free element/ammo up skill to work and it still didn't work. Hope this helps because this is an awesome mod to have to disable, but it does get in the way of my status builds.
Thank you for letting me know, Try installing the previous version 1.0.4 under the Old Files section and let me know if the problem persists in that version. It would be a great help in narrowing down the issue if you can do that.
I tried the latest up date for the cosmetic only version, with both bow guns, bows' coating, and even insect glaive status effects don't seem to build up or even proc, but the elemental damage on the weapons and bow gun ammo does work. i tried the 1.0.4 version and status effects work like they should. probably late on this post though
I realised I was installing the mod into the wrong place because even though I had a monster hunter file in my c the actual folder with the .exe was in a different drive

2. I use a skill description mod which this mod disables (skill_eng.gmd I think?) ... Is this file only for the description that says "Cosmetical vers. currently installed..." If yes, can I replace the file with my skill description mod without affecting your mod? (I don't want any buff or advantage).
Yes it will show for other players, if they inspect your equipment they'll also see the Safi Seal on your charms so just be aware of that, some people may not like it
Hey there, just chiming in to say, this doesn't seem to be the case (as far as the Cosmetic Only vers. is concerned). My friend couldn't see the Safi Armor activating at all.
Also, on my end, the Safi Seal applied to all charms, including my friend's charms, not just my own. This means I would see him with the "safi seal" effect when attacking.
Lastly, a bit unrelated, but is there anything that can be done about changing Safi weapons color when layered, despite their element tying them to a different color?
Because all mods are client sided they wont see it activating because it's only on your end, You'll be able to see yourself transform but nobody else will.
Same thing with you seeing the Safi Seal on their charm, It will be displayed for you but not for them, nor will they get any of the benefits from it as they dont actually have the skill even if it shows they do.
And for the last thing im not quite sure what you mean, most likely that would be something related to the model/vfx of the weapon and im not skilled in that.
this mod nearly made me fall these seals enhance my attacks which is a plus but the big downside is that my own attacks inflict hp on me which is a moronic idea

but seems to affect other players to. I tried to inspect their equipment and see their charms are safi jiiva enabled

ive edited and combine All Armor with max Slots (Weapon excluded!) with Safi Seal on all Charm. so i hope it helps!
