Frequently Answered Questions: 1. It doesn't work/not showing numbers. A: You need Windows 10 (or with latest .NET Framework). You need to be in a multiplayer quest. Someone need to have dealt damage to the boss.
2. Game's running but still have "is the game running" failure. A: Check process manager and kill all "MonsterHunterWorld.exe" processes and restart the game, or restart your PC.
3. Taskbar won't hide in game with borderless fullscreen. A: Google it for the solution. It's a common issue with many games. One possible solution is to restart "explorer."
4. Will there be X feature? A: See if there's other mod already does it on the site first, e.g. damage numbers/chat broadcast. Though I don't recommend because they will reduce the fun for you and other players. For me I just use it to see how I'm doing with weapon Y compared to weapon X, or check others' builds when they are doing better than me. I hope people can make friends with each other, not just dropping damage numbers in chat channel and talk shit.
5. WIll it support fullscreen mode? A: I won't do it because people like borderless fullscreen. The mod has negligible CPU usage. If you have performance issues, consider lower the graphic settings.
Monster Hunter IS a hard game , multiplayer is only for casuals who can't play by themself that's it , don't talk about something you know nothing about , you want a hard game ? Play the solo experience , what's your excuse ?
Ignorant response, fight arch tempered velkhana with experienced people, it's still difficult. Besides, multiplayer is just inherently fun. like playing with your friend. But you have no friends, sad.
Just curious how this is supposed to be used for self improvement if it doesn't show the values. A % damage style enforces competition and toxicity, whereas the number value actually makes this make sense as a self improvement tool. Allowing you to compete against yourself across multiple hunts and improve. I know I know, if you don't like it, make it yourself. I just found it odd that this is advertised as a self improvement tool, not to be used to belittle others, when that's literally the only purpose a % based system could serve. There is no way to compare your performance to previous hunts unless you were playing with bots that were programmed to always do a certain percentage of the enemies health. . Easy solution to this whole thing would be to simply make it a personal damage meter that shows numerical value and percentage of the target creatures health done. I don't really see the point in seeing the rest of your teams damage in the majority of casual settings. Unless you are trying people out for a team or something, it's likely you will never see most players you play with ever again anyways. And if it's your friends who suck, I'm gonna take a wild guess and say you probably already knew that without a damage meter to tell you lol. This could be such a great tool for self improvement if it showed both. You could see how much damage you were able to put out during a shock trap window, or a knockdown window. Or work on weaving dps in during more aggressive phases/enrages. Anyways. I just think this mod has potential, and it's clear the creator is trying to take a different approach. I just feel that team based percentage is not the key if self improvement is the goal for this mod.
This post totally makes sense.. There is no way this tool could be used for self improvement or even weapon/stuff comparison. It shouldn't even be called MHW DAMAGE METER but MHW COMPETITION METER.
Just joined a SOS and a random guy posted damage percentage of every player after killing the monster. I asked if he does this every match, he says yes he does. I called him out on it, and I'm posting this to equally call out every single one of you who subjects people to information no one asked for, whether that be friends who don't have a similar mod, let alone random players who don't even know you.
I mod my game a fair bit myself, test out new or obscure mods just for the fun of it. Personally I don't quite understand the appeal of knowing how much more or less you're performing compared to others, or knowing when exactly the monster will die through precise numbers, but for those that who do the least you can do is to shut up about it. While I'm still optimistic that a majority of users already do, this is for the obnoxious few I guess still needs common sense hammered into them, please stop affecting others with mods. Some don't even know there are mods in this game.
You're quite literally being that kid rn. You're being an ass to UB157 for, what. Discouraging others from posting numbers? Sure, no one asked him about his bad experience. But neither did anyone ask you to act like an ALPHA MALE
As someone who just got this game, I couldn't disagree more with your statement. All good things in life can be misused, damage meters are no exception. For someone such as myself, this is a great tool to help me push myself as a player.
Because now you have retarded bow users spamming their DPS after lobbies. Just had some braindead guy kill a monster instead of walking it to the trap that was already placed and when I called him out on it he started spamming the lobby with his damage done.
Totally takes the point out of a game like MHW and joy out of the hunt when there's some moron just blindly staring at DPS numbers.
Monster hunter has never been a game about how much DPS you can do. The dozen games have never had a DPS meter and now you have idiots playing it for the first time on PC thinking they have to play the highest DPS role and everyone else should too. You could have been playing it for 10+ years and know all about utility then you have these pricks from dumbed down MMO's spamming damage meters.
I really like the little detail the author gives in his description that this game isn't about dps. A player who is playing instrument, consistently mounting the creature to knock it down, flash bugging, etc. aren't exactly getting dps in those moments. However, these plays have the potential to bring huge value to the team and possibly are the real mvp if they are consistent at controlling the situation enough. Personally I was looking at this mod for self improvement as well as getting the numbers for a friend who is also interested. But then there is the aforementioned situation is the attack I'm making right now a selfish dps numbers moment or could I possible go for a mount, team buff, or any other non-dps play that could be even more valuable?
There will always be tards using it to spam and brag, but as the author clarified and the silent majority of users do it, it's used as a self-improvement tool to see if certain builds are perhaps not as good as thought and to see what can be improved. It may not always be about doing DPS but it's nice to see that you're not always the one scoring too far behind. Personally I'd rather recommend this one to others than other tools which do the same but also display Monster health and other factors
how are people using this for "self improvement"? unless you're playing with the same group of people, wouldn't your results be wildly different all the time? with this mod it seems everyone is just going leeroy jenkins all the time just to hit top dps and it's kind of sad. no one seems to ever want to break parts anymore
I don't really see how can this ruin the game in any shape,it just shows you the total damage you dealt,It doesn't increase dps/def/etc...
Some people are just curious about their dealt damage,Me for an example a player for almost a year became a bit curious about how much damage he deals to the monsters instead of counting every single hit thought it's a good idea to use such mod.
There are players who deal %1 dmg in whole fight run around, do nothing but be a hindrance. Never can hunt alone, and be nothing but a hindrance in team fights. Damage meter shows you how good you did, and how bad those ppl did so that you can avoid them in the future. Showing you how bad you performed is not something to be ashamed. If anything, you can throw your salt away and try to perform better!
