For people who having problems with scum becoming transparent when coming near it, delete scum patch from Mod "Mistify". I am not sure what that patch does but for me this problem was fixed when i deleted it. I guess its patch for orginal scum mod and not this one. This issue was driving me insane for long time, glad i finally fixed it.

Hey, if anyone is having issues. Be sure you have Scum Retexture first, and then delete the texture in there.
Also, if you are using Mistify, get rid of the scum textures in there as well. <3

While using this mod with the Scum Rextexture, the transparent mesh I believe seems to overwrite the Scummy Scum textures, getting rid of the green effect when approaching. Even getting rid of the Scum Rextexture's transparent texture, the green Scummy Scum texture turns transparent when your camera gets close enough. Apparently with other version of the Scum Retexture, things like the Lilly Pads and bubbles dissapear when getting too close. Any chance there can be a fix for OpenMW users if its just an OpenMW issue?

EDIT: oh my god I'm so dumb.
I played with this same glitch for like a year and all this time just kinda figured it was some kind of openMW related oddity or some kind of intended effect- but I just failed toread the modpage properly. I forgot to install scum retexture.
so yeah anyone else out there having this- you need scum retexture as well as this mod, it's an addon for that mod.

How many of clones of me would it take to install a lightbulb?
No ammount would be sufficient. we would just assume the room was supposed to be dark

A layer of the scum texture sort of half disappears as I approach, letting me see through to the bottom, in a circle around my camera. Is that typical or something I should troubleshoot? Using openmw. https://i.imgur.com/9BzbYLY.jpg

Don’t know what’s causing that, sorry. Have you tried asking the OpenMW people?

Getting the same result here. The mod works fine, but when you get too close it can be irritating to look at.

I have such result for "Vanilla Inspired Water for Open MW-49391-1-0-1616959595" - when I levitate beneath the water, 4 textures under me disappears - but they look great from far. I didn't try Scummy Scum mod yet

I have the same problem, here are some images to visualize the issue:

To be fair, I think the origin of the problem is not this mod, it just makes it more visible. Without it, it is extremely hard to see, but moving the camera over scum puddles still shows funny effects in a circle around the camera.

I had a similar problem with snow textures in Skyrim SE, which I was not able to solve completely but made it way less visible by changing some lighting options. I will probably try that in MW too once I find the time.

I'm having the same issue. Not sure what's causing it either. I'm using OpenMW 0.47.

If after installing this mod you become annoyed by a strong mismatch between the level of scum and water, this mod will help you:

If you are using Morrowind Enhanced Textures, load/install this BEFORE. Thats what is says in the mod description. But i dont understand the point of that because when you overwrite the meshes and textures from this mod with MET ones, this mod becomes completely redundant...

It’s because DassiD didn’t want to include the transparent scum mesh needed for the alpha channel to work (which is included in the MET scum texture by default). So if you want to see the MET scum texture as I intended it, you have to install this mod first. If you install this mod second, then you’ll overwrite the MET texture with this one. Fine if that’s your preference but I prefer the MET one personally, at least for consistency with the rest of a MET install.

EDIT: Turns out it was a miscommunication between me and DassiD that leant him to think he had included the mesh. That’s been fixed in the new MET update with an optional download for meshes.

What does your edit added to your comment mean here? Do we still load this before MET or after? ty

If you're using MET, just grab the meshes download from that page and you won't need this mod at all as the version of the scum texture I included in MET 4 will work automatically if you have the MET meshes, or the scum mesh from here. The only reason you would download this mod is if you prefer the look of this scum texture. Hope that helps? tnx :)

So if I prefer the look of this mod MET patch serves no purpose? Ty :)

Well I'd still recommend the other meshes from MET. I would say "just install this after" but might be worth checking something with the older version of the mesh found here; try dropping an item under the scummy water and seeing if you can pick it up again?

Just out of curiosity, do you know if the new lily pad meshes are compatible with the 'Lily Pad Replacer' mod here:
    https://www.nexusmods.com/morrowind/mods/45463
I don't have a strong preference between the pad textures, but I'd like to be able to keep the flowers, especially for areas like Mournhold.

The lilly pad meshes here look the same as the vanilla ones I’m afraid.
