Well you're free to make your own custom heads... If this won't work for you you can always rename head .nif-files from the specific mod you're using to replace the custom heads from this archive.
The mod will technically work without races redone. The custom heads just match MacKom's head design. It isn't technically required to run, but it is the most comprehensive way of using MacKom's heads IMO.
hey know this semi to something else and nearly 2 years later, but thanks for the ease of replace information (.Nif) I totally forgot about it and was having issues with hair breaking ingred and beth. (fyi also I guess; without the mod that uses the hair for those 2 they break, with any alterations to their gear causing crash since it fails to reload the non-existing hair).
Thanks for mod and this info totaly forgot how easy was to replace hair by just renaming.

Any way it is compatible without that comprehensive package? I personally use MacKom Humanoid Heads Collection and a separate hair replacer package.
