Empty mod options: Make sure Detailed Character Creation is loaded after this mod. It uses an old version of MCM/MBOptionScreen that breaks the newer versions.
Companions: As of version 0.11.0, the companion feature was moved to it's own mod and improved to fix baldness, missing backstory, and be able to evole futher without impacting this mod. Check it out here Mixed Gender Companions Companions created by this mod will still function, but no new ones will spawn.
Suggestions for additional features: I'm open to ideas for improvements/additions to this mod, I think making troops into females is done.
Before commenting about a crash/bug:
* Is it a known issue? (the bald heads helmet toggle problem) * Are you using the latest version? * Is the/any DLL blocked? * Try reproducing the problem with just this mod enabled * Explain what caused the crash (starting the game, loading a save game, starting a new campaign, moving on the map, etc.) * Include the mod.log, error.log, and the stack trace message (this thing) if it shows up
I pulled down your source and have been trying to figure out if I can get it working again. After a few days of digging I believe I have updated it enough to allow for gameplay functionality. There are minor glitches though none of which directly effect campaign/sandbox gameplay.
Glitches: Encyclopedia dupped entries NonFaction based soldiers are bald Modification of Option screen while in game = game freeze (edit of options on main menu works fine) Uninstaller is disabled (was unable to find work around for some of the references) *** so if you intend on using this fixed version of MGT disabling the mod will result in save file corruption.
I would consider posting the fix if you would garner me permission to do so, or packaging up the project and handing it to you for review and distribution. You have a considerable fan base that really enjoyed this mod.
tASE has abandoned the mod and not answered multiple messages by plenty of people about this mod. As long as you credit him as the original owner i cant see reuploading a fix to this mod is a bad thing. If in the future tASE does come back and decide to fix the mod then you can just remove your fix and there shouldnt be any issues.
The only other option is to just let this mod be left dead which would be such a shame as plenty of people LOVE this mod...
Fixing an old dead mod isnt stealing - its showing appreciation for it :)
Alot of people would be so grateful to have this mod again :)
Although uploading something like that without tASE's explicit permission is TECHNICALLY stealing and distributing his work, and technicalities should never be underestimated, there has to be a point in time when it would be considered okay to do so anyway. And it's almost been a year since his last update. And it's even more validated by the fact that there's been just about zero communcation from him in most of that time whenever someone has inquired about this mod. And as Nicole also stated, a fix is showing appreciation to the original work and there are a LOT of people missing this mod, myself included.
So I'm pretty sure you'd be considered a bit of a hero if you were to release your fix, and by this point as long as you credit tASE and are prepared to take it down as soon as he updates this original mod or directly tells you to take it down, I think you'll be okay. Given his abandonment, I doubt you'll hear anything from him. But best to be prepared, just in case.
Just an update: I am still tinkering with this beast, there is a real issue with dynamic load and rereferencing of character objects created on the fly.
What that means is you can load the mod and play on the initial session but saving and trying to reload that save results in a game crashing error. I am continuing to research a way around that issue.
Me too! So hoping, that you get it done and thank you very much for your efforts so far. Really really looking forward to having this mod back in the game.
I don't know if your attempt to resurrect this mod is still in progress, but if it is good luck! I've just come back to this game and was gutted to find this mod no longer working. A risk or early access I guess, but the game just isn't the same without it.
For those wondering about an update. I was not able to get a stable reload of a save game. Initial play worked great save for a Encylopedia duplication glitch. But everything else that seemed fine. On save and reload however the game word crash. Apparently unable to recognize and reference the added female ids that were created in the first run.
I have shelved my efforts for now... due to the 1.7.2(beta) and support of my other mods. This one is one of my favorites so I won't completely forget about it either. As I am able I will throw some hours at it.
Sorry if I got anyones hopes up for a quick solution and turn around.
Has anyone found a alternative to this mod yet? was hoping someone would have revived and fixed this by now... literally was my favourite mod loved the amount of customization you got with it.
PLEASE SOMEONE REVIVE THIS MOD IM BEGGING YOU!!!!!
I saw this mod before but i havent downloaded it yet as i wasnt sure if it was good or not...
Can you recruit the female from villages like normal and do AI use them? And can you change ratio of who uses them or not? (i only want certain factions to use them like the khuzaits)
and lastly are the troops the same as the male ones? they look like completely different - which tells me they might not be balanced like the vanilla ones... I want them the same not OP
good or not.... It fills a need. Can you recruit from Villages = yes Do AI use them = I believe so yes Ratio Change = in text file configuration I believe so (you can also choose which factions you want enabled via mod launcher each faction has own troop tree mod you can enable) Same as males = No completely different tree with different armors pulled from different mod packs... big part that I don't like
I today send out messages to tASE(original Author) and the BadListener1(Fix Author) .... I just as to if they have any intention on restoring this mod.
I been working on a fix version myself I managed to get it working in a very rudimentary form. Its not fully tested so I can't guarantee its stable. and I know there is one issue with Skill generation that I need to figure out. If I don't hear anything from these other authors and I can find time to do some cleanup I may release my version as a onetime fix.... Can't say that I will maintain it though. Got too many other things going on.
I saw this mod just now it looks promising - its basically this mixed gender mod but more lightweight. Doesnt add custom armour from other mods or anything big.
I have also messaged tase but got no reply - i guess can assume this is a dead mod. I sure do hope its revived but this 'Diverse Troops' mod looks kind of perfect for what im looking for but the ratio menu from this mod was the best just so easy to customize.
Dear moderator, if it is not difficult for you, please update the mod to the current versions 1.5.5, 1.5.6., people are very much waiting, making this mod, you gave people a "yummy", which now "take away"
