    Do you realize, there was no Vikings in Roman times. It should be Germanic faction instead as there were various Germanic tribes.

      My objective is not to be 100% realistic, yes there are some inconsistencies: faction, location of cities not quite in the right place, equipment, etc.
      I preferred to keep the term "Vikings" everyone knows who they are and where they come from  ...and everyone loves Vikings

      I still tried to be as close to reality as possible, but think of it as an alternate reality.

    You should also mention that this mod messes up Eagle Rising mod. It has conflict.

      Sorry I'm not going to make a list of all the incompatible mods, I know that some mods are more used than others but if each time I'm asked to specify that such or such mod is not compatible, I'm not done noting ! test it and see if it is compatible or not.As for a compatible version, I'll think about it but it's not something I thought about doing.

      Did you put Europe Map UNDER Eagle Rising?
      I'm using with Eagle Rising without any problem, you just have to learn how to order your mods.
      I can confirm it's 100% compatible.

    I did what the instructions told me to do and dropped the file into modules but it didn't change anything, the order of mods was also the same, Aeterna being under the European map mod, the game will run perfectly fine but it won't show the Roman names of cities, etc.

    is it normal that in the Encyclopedia the factions have there vanilla names?

      Yes, my mod is not perfect, there are still some small things to correct, I will try to see that in the future. However, it's still details and since I've been working on this mod every day for about 2 weeks, I'm going to rest a bit, I'll come back to it later.I hope you will enjoy this mod in the meantime.

      "Bretons" is also a strange name to put over Ireland. The people there were Gaels, not Brythonic. "Insular Celts" would be an accurate name for both groups.

      I just put you a small extract found on wikipedia but that you can find on other sites : "The Bretons (in Latin: Britanni) are the inhabitants of the island of Brittany (in Latin: Britannia) during Antiquity. The Bretons were partly Romanized in Roman times"

      There are probably other appropriate terms but I don't think the term "Breton" is incorrect ...some historians will probably call them "Breton" others will call them something else, sometimes you don't have to think too hard  If you're used to calling them something else I can understand why you find it strange, if it bothers you too much try another mod, and if not read the lock message above

    settlements and troop names changes but faction names doesnt

      It should ! I checked the files again, it works correctly, did you follow the installation path ? the file that changes the name of the factions is "module_strings.xml" that you have to install manually, there is a French and English version, you have to install the version that corresponds to the language of your game. If despite everything it does not work it comes from another mod that you have installed. 
      Once the file is installed launch a new campaign and look in the faction selection menu if the name has changed.

      i have the same problem mate, and this file "module_strings.xml" is not there to replace and if i just place it in there it dont work

      The file should work correctly, follow the installation path, if you took the file (EN) and not (FR) then the installation path should be Steam>Steamapps> Common>Mount & blade 2 Bannerlord>Modules>Native>ModuleData. once in the ModuleData folder take the "module_strings.xml" file you downloaded and drag it inside, an alert should appear explaining that the file already exists, agree to replace it with the one that already exists. Once done, the language of your game must match the file you downloaded if you are playing in a language other than English then the changes will not appear.My mod is only available in game for English or French. Once all that is done, launch a new campaign and in the choice of faction at the character creation check that the names have changed, if it is still not the case then you probably have a mod that conflicts with mine

    franchement super en plus ta aussi changer le nom des faction seul truc j'ai vu c'est battania tu devrai le foutre brittania /vlendia en Gaule et srutgia en viking sa serai parfait

      Si tu parle du nom des Royaumes c'est déjà mis, mais dans la sélection des factions j'ai mis les habitants et pas le nom du royaume, comme pour les Gaulois par exemple je n'ai pas mis la Gaule mais les Gaulois, les Bretons pour Britannia etc...
      Mais dans certains dialogue il pourra apparaitre le Nom du royaume, si une annonce ou un PNJ parle du royaume de "truc" alors il sera marquer "Royaume de Gaule ou Royaume de Britannia" etc...

      Hmm je crois comprendre, tu veut dire qu'en jeu y'a encore parfois des page d'information ou c'est noté les noms d'origine c'est ça ? si c'est le cas, je pourrais travailler dessus à l'avenir, la c'est surtout histoire de commencer à changer les base.
      Et si c'est pas ce que tu voulais dire soit plus clair parce que sinon j'ai pas compris ^^

      Dans tout les cas merci de tes retours, je suis preneur des avis, des erreurs et autre problème rencontré.

      It only changes the name of factions and cities, for castles and villages, I will work on that in the future

      I don't know, my mod touches on faction and city names, if the Eagle rising mod does either, it will conflict, one will replace the other.
