Greetings im currently playing on the previous patch of M&B because its required for The Old Realms mod, I wanted to test compatibility but I've seen at least on the workshop your mod only supports the latest patch .12, could i run this on .11 with the latest version or do i need to download one of the old files.
So this mod combined with the Spear Preference Fix for RBM turns polearms into t6 superweapons. Problem is they both buff the thrust of polearms so they get double buffed.
Now I have not tested it in gameplay, just looked at numbers but I can imagine polearms being double buffed they are a bit strong.
Spear preference fix damage is fake, it is made to trick the AI and make them think the spears are powerful, that's why they use them more, but the damage you see in the description items is not real, I wouldn't recommend that mod either way, it makes the AI to never use their swords, axe or maces, realistic combat adjustments without spear preference fix is the sweet spot where the AI use the spears but also use their other melee weapons dynamically in the battlefield

I guess it doesnt just trick the AI. It also tricked me. But in all seriousness thanks for explaining. I was going to try playing without the rbm combat module for once but I guess I had the spear preference fix still installed as well.
Gotta say, this Realistic Combat Adjustments mod together with the Realistic Combat Sounds changes up the whole battle experience and I like it so far! Might add in the stamina system later as well.
By the way, I REALLY love this mod, finally makes infantry combat feel kinda great and fluid, but I do have one possible issue; it seems like maybe cavalry with this mod are now not hitting the enemy properly, missing even more than before? Maybe it's just my imagination, but it could be because the AI didn't adapt entirely to the changed windup and attack speeds. Could you look into it?
Does someone know how compatible this mod is with RBM ?
EDIT: It's not quite balanced in my opinion. RBM or not, you just have to spam attack and you turn into a machine gun, like there's no "ready" or "wind up" animation. I don't know if it's because of RBM tho
Dude, what did you expect exactly? In real life combat, there’s no forced "ready" or "wind-up" animation—you have complete control over how long you prepare an attack. If you've ever done real-life HEMA or medieval weapon fighting, you'd know this. In this mod, heavy attacks are performed by holding the mouse button, creating a longer wind-up animation and dealing extra damage. If you think the mod is OP and turns you into some "attack-spamming machine gun," I dare you to easily win a tournament or defeat a Tier-5 troop. The AI has exactly the same capabilities as the player, and it's extremely aggressive and effective. Good luck spamming mindlessly against decent opponents. By the way, this mod was specifically designed for RBM, although it works fine with vanilla Bannerlord too. The mod turns Bannerlord into a hardcore combat experience, not some easy arcade hack-and-slash. Also if you want extra difficulty you can combine this with other mods like stamina system or whatever other mods you find that tweak combat. Cheers!
Then something is def broken because i can spam attack with a 2H axe and still deals the same amount of damage, witohout any animation, no needs to get so defensive.
I can confirm that AI uses this behavior in tournaments. Today I was killed by a dude in tournament, he spammed 3 attacks with a spear in under a second. I realized what happened only after my char dropped dead lol Sometimes npc combos remind me of Mortal Combat and Tekken haha No complaints, because I almost understood how to do such combos too ;)
I really love this mod—it introduces a combo system to Mount & Blade, making one-handed weapons feel incredibly smooth to wield, especially swords. The original sluggishness of vanilla combat is completely gone now——be translated by AI.
This mod is amazing and indeed very realistic—maybe even too realistic. If you’ve ever been in a street fight between different groups of hooligans, you’d know how quickly people around you drop like flies. That’s exactly how it feels in this mod, and this level of realism becomes a problem.
It makes sense in real life when you have between 25,000 and 200,000 soldiers fighting on a vast battlefield. But in this game, we have a much smaller number, ranging from 100 to a maximum of 1,000 soldiers. This brutally accurate realism becomes a huge issue in the context of the much smaller numbers—between 50 and 1,000.
The mod creator should consider this aspect—realism is good, but it needs to be adapted to the significantly smaller numbers in the game. You have to scale down your real-world figures to fit the in-game numbers (50–1,000!).
Definitely makes fights faster and fun in the late game, however a shield is required to survive. Don't attempt 1-handed combat w/o a shield against lords/elites early game, especially if you're using the RBM posture system (disregard if you're an adderall enjoyer).

Just putting this out here for people to read.
