Well, I guess I should preface my comment with the following: I'm not trying to put to author down or anything, I can see this mod having its' place for some folks.
That being said, I personally tried the mod and it is, at least to me, not as expected.
What I thought this would do is make it so that "fast forward" is on by default when giving a move-order without any other changes. Instead it changes time speed to only be changeable with ctrl-click too. I find it more intuitive to use number keys for time management than a ctrl-click, myself.
Perhaps it would be best to state the full set of changes on the mod's description panel.
!To be clear! it is by no means a bad mod, just unclear in what it does, exactly. I'll give an endorsement anyhow even if I won't use it.
My original plan was to make double click or control click the slow speed, and then have a single click for double speed, but how the game handles the speed was so confusing and as I wanted to stop double clicking as soon as possible, I made it as simple as possible. Simplicity also helps in a sense that there will be less to test and fewer surprises.
I will get back to this as soon as I get a good chance to look at what other options there are for the movement. There were a few possible avenues but they seemed to lead to this same system of speed handling. And don't worry about pointing out factual information. It helps everyone.
I was thinking about what you said and had a look at it. It should now work as before, as well as through LCTRL+LMB. 1 for stop, 2 for normal speed, 3 for fast forward, and then it stays that way. Now the mod is better, thanks to you!
Whoa, thanks for taking the time to not only respond to criticism in a friendly way, but also update the mod thus incorporating said feedback! Your mod, and you, are very easily worth my time to endorse. If I'm able I just might send a few bucks your way via your paypal link. Not sure if I've got enough to spare at the moment but if I do... If you bring us more mods someday, I'll be sure to have a look and share any feedback I may have.
Feel no pressure to donate. I'll be working on all the possible mods that I feel could be nice and my skills can handle at least to some degree. Have a good one!
