I disliked many of the place names in Bannerlord for sounding "made up" or not fitting to the culture(s) the respective nation is clearly based on. Warband was much, much worse, but Bannerlord still had some offenders, particularly among the city names. Sturgia now sounds more Norse / Rus, Vlandia more Norman / Anglo-Saxon, Aserai more Arab and so on. Castles and lastly villages will follow whenever I feel like it. Nation and Clan names when I find out how to do that or it becomes possible. "Sturgia." Pfff.
I have not yet found a way to make this into a standalone module. When I set it up as one, the game does not utilize the custom settlements.xml specified in the mod's SubModule.xml. If anyone can help me with this, please write me a message.
Therefore, you have to replace the "settlements.xml" in "SandBox" to isntall and again whenever the game updates.
