On the latest version 1.2.12 it works, but strangely. The bolt flies in a perfect straight line, without a trajectory. Because of this, bots cannot hit the enemy, since they shoot to adjust the distance to the target and all the bolts fly into space.
Managed to get it working by having Automatic Crossbow as the only mod enabled initially to get the mod initialized because the mod needs to create a file(?) or initialize something that doesn't exist upon first start up hence the load failed warnings.
Assuming you are on the main menu, close the game and launch the game again now the mod should be working as you don't get any load failed warning.
Now you can enable all the disabled mods & put Automatic Crossbow at the end of the load order as that tends to fix issues caused by other mods. You may have to manually test each mod to see which mod crashes upon start up or is incompatible with this mod.
Version 1.2.8 for me have a weird issue of the weapon not firing the projectile so i use 1.0.1.5325 instead although this maybe because im playing on an older build (Bannerlord v1.1.6) Incompatible mods that i tested are: Custom Crosshair Achievement Unblocker
If you get the cannot load error when starting the game and the game crashes - unblock the autocrossbow.dll file from properties - you can find it under Autocrossbow->bin->win64_shipping_client
for realism you can set ammo consumption "true" "148" interval also "148" sound interval if you do you will feel what i am saying (Yugoslavian m92 an ak-47 variant fires little slowly to save gun barrel more efficient
And the only way for me to fix this is to turn off anything that involves in .Net or C++. In my case, I'm still leaving my VSC open. When I turned it off, there was no error. So just turn off any coding section or relative to something required to run a .dll file, and you'll be good.
Mod seems doesn't works in 1.2.9 even the message in game say the mod is working, but I can't find the item in cheat inventory. I also did "uncommenting" in the code and still not showing.
Cant get the mod to work. No matter what I do, the game just says 'cant locate autocrossbow.dll', despite me unblocking/trying many different installs, reinstalls and other modding tools
Is there a suitable version for the Ak47 and other weapons on V1.1.5? I've downloaded the V1.2.8 of Auto X-bow, the mod loaded but instead of going full automatic, I just didn't lose my crosshair and got a bunch of code texts.
i have the same issue. wont fire until i release the trigger and only 1 shot at the time, also crosshair disapears after first shoot only to reapear on reload

Custom Crosshair
Achievement Unblocker
The mod then worked for me
There a times I run into this issue multiple time
doesnt work with any version
"it just works" as some idiot once was quoted as saying...
- Autocrossbow
- AK47 - BM168
- AK47 - Automatic PATCH
hold the mod where you select them and drag them so they show up in this order and it should work
