Does not work. Opening a save file causes an error of "the file contained unexpected data, or was too short."

    GOG NWN, newest version.

Texture packs and one ai fix. I installed the unused portraits mod. All installed using NIT. Note, NIT can't be the cause.

I couldn't change my portrait. Need help, else tell me if there another character editor.

    Thanks.

followed instructions to the letter. when i go to save changes into list from file to the save, instead of saving it doubles back  and asks me to select a resource to open again. obviously nothing works here. can save a player bik without this happening.

I'm trying to save a BIC save in a SAV. I'm opening a BIC and Save as->(List from the file)-> SAV -> select MODULE INF -> character  and  out of memory while expanding memory stream.
In other case the program works fine.

You need to edit the character save from your localvault folder. Don't edit the player.bic file. It is just a snapshot of your character and doesn't do anything. Think of it as a thumbnail.

In my case I'm doing the correct thing (editing the save, not the character) and getting the same error :/

3 years late... Are you trying to edit the player.bic file? It's not real. It's just a snapshot of the character.

Works fine kinda. I was able to edit what I needed about my character, but for some reason, it messes with quests and your journal (not quest progression as far as I can tell). It deleted my completed quests in my journal and most of my unfinished quests in my journal. Talking to NPCs will add the quests back to your journal but they will approach you at first as though you hadn't spoken to them before. Taking to all the NPCs again seems to be a fix as far as I can tell, but henchmen quests seem to disappear completely even when speaking with them again or at least mine did.

Guess I should have made a backup, worked perfectly the first time, went in to edit one small thing, broke my save file, all my progress gone.

I deleted the sav file in my quicksave folder, copied it from an autosave I found that was an hour behind. Re-edited the char, and when I loaded the quicksave, I somehow was in the progression point of the save I deleted, with the character I edited last. Weird af, but I'll take it.

I need a little help, I'm trying to add a feat to my character. the issue is it isn't a passive feat and I can't figure out how to add it to my quickbar in leto or in game.

In game just open your character menu, hit the feats tab and drag the feat to your hotbar.

In the description it says you can add wings to a character, but I do not see how In the tool. I also cannot find a tutorial on how to do it. Can you post a link or instructions please.

Well, this is a little late, but the tutorials we wrote back in the day are all archived on improperly labeled CDs now. Dragonsong took Weathersong, the site, down a long time ago.

To add a tail to your character, when you have it opened to edit look for the tail line. It will end with 0. Change this value to a 1 or a 2 depending on which tail you want to use and save. If I remember correctly, it's been 16 years, 1 is demon and 2 is dragon, but I cannot guarantee it.

The out of memory issues are easy to replicate. Perhaps a 64-bit version of this application would fix this.
