If you have a problem caused by a recent version of NVSR: 1. Find your NVSR ini file. See the "Master" section at the top of it. Disable features from there (by changing ones to zeroes) until your problem goes away. If you can change all the ones to zeroes and your problem remains then likely NVSR was not at fault. Re-enable features that weren't the cause of your problem. 2. Post here. Describe the problem. Tell me which line in the "Master" section was associated with the problem. If you have used a previous version of NVSR that did not cause the problem, let me know about that, including which version it was.
and optionally, 3. If you're feeling industrious, try finding the section of the NVSR ini associated with the particular feature you're having trouble with (not all features have ini sections, but many do), and try adjusting its settings to see if they have any effect on your problem.
That will at least give me a fighting chance of figuring out what went wrong. Hopefully.
same, without it, my game and load order is just fine and ive got a butt load going on in my load order, but as soon as i download this my game breaks on startup. oh well
Xteroblade2117 is correct. This is a bad mod and your game will not open. They should either fix the ini file by default or it should be removed from Nexus. If you install the mod as is your game will not open. The user will then have to identify this mod as the problem and debug the ini themselves. DO NOT USE this mod.
breaks my game on startup, i used the s^$# out of the oblivion version so i dont understand, but im tarded anyways so w/e. game didnt stutter that much anyway
Unfortunately made the game unplayable on Win 11 for me. After I removed it, played 5 hours, crashed once at about that time, and then 2 - 3 hours with no problems, while with the mod, froze the game once and had to sign out in another time, so 2 times in less than half an hour.
I won't try the pinned, as the game is stable enough for me personally to not use the mod altogether. Still appreciate the modder and the fact that this was probably really good on older machines, when it was made that is.
The pinned post is correct but it should be clarified that the .ini you have to do this in is in the game folder under /Data/NVSE/plugins and not the copy under the nexus mod folder.
I had to interpret this by reading the text file for how it gets uninstalled.
Kind of sad to see people bashing this mod now. This mod used to be great back in the day but obviously as time passed and new operating systems got released it became obsolete. Doesn't mean the mod is bad, it's just old.
i fully agree. and it's everywhere, especially on the older mods. there's always people in the comments complaining about what the mod description and/or pinned comments have already stated. nexus users are just notorious for not reading the descriptions/comments/other linked content deemed important by the author(s)
it's a test of sanity to be a mod creator for sure
This mod sucks at fixing game stuttering, and causes my game to crash every 10 minutes. No clue why people still use it considering it hasn't been updated since 2014 (Over 10 years ago now). Any OS above Windows 8 has big problems with this. Not worth anyone's time imo.
yeah, that's why the pinned comment(s) have warnings about this; it's had issues since 2020 at the earliest. so, if you see that kind of warning from mod authors or other users in general, don't expect the mod to work.

If you are using this mod on Windows 10, you need to open sr_New_Vegas_Stutter_Remover.ini in notepad and change the line:
bHookLightCriticalSections = 1
to
bHookLightCriticalSections = 0
Otherwise you will crash every 10-15 minutes or during load screens.

Use New Vegas Tick Fix instead! It is the modern replacement of this.
