Let me introduce myself first, I'm a Thai who's not very good at English... I thought this Mod. would increase EXP to level up faster! Normally, the hell champion who catches people like they're playing would have to be level 8. Mine was adjusted x3. When I got there, my level was only 4... Hahaha XD Don't make the same mistake as me. )=D
It just makes XP increase perks necessary, but 1.5 is more reasonable if you don't have any mods installed. I have some mods that add a whole bunch of quests and enemies (and therefore XP) as well as perk every level, so 2x slower feels comfortable for me.
For no extra quest/kill mod install, 2.0 is reasonable speed for new player.
Experienced players know to move at fast pace toward the outer area of Vegas because there's a few low level quests, low level enemies there. Thus 3.0 is necessary.
Honestly really great at 2.0x, can recommend. It's the sweet spot - your leveling is slower but not so brokenly slow you can't do any of the speech checks at the normal times, it just requires you to specialize much more. XP gain perks are now worthwhile because of the slow leveling, sleeping in normal mode is more worth it for the well rested bonus, and the player character is weaker. I use this with perks every level for a vanilla+ experience - you have less skills but more perks, making interesting and specialized characters in the process. Not only are you more able to pick nonmeta perks for RP, you also tend to be more well balanced overall. Getting to max level isn't a chore, but also isn't a cakewalk.
When I return with the TTW, Slower level x2 or x3 is too slow for Capital Wasteland. 1.5 is about it. EDIT: that's for vanilla. Once you start using combat-orient mods that add more hostiles, it raise fast enough. HOnestly, even in vanilla, once you figure out the trick to do raider-hunting, or enclave-hunting, kill xp just line themselves up. 4x and 5x are even called for~
Awesome and Essential MOD for Long Time users who want to feel that Challenge again. If your playing with a team or a Squad you really need this. I cut my Squad back to just Me and 2 other guys. I leave 2 at the Lucky 38 for certain special encounters and for the Final Battle. I also use Perk Every Three Levels. With playing at Very Hard and these Two MOD's it feels more like Fallout 1 where you had to work and wait for those Levels and Perks. Recommended and Endorsed
Is it just me or does this mod make the experience bar not adjust according to the amount of xp I have?I am about 2k xp from leveling up yet my xp bar is stuck at the very beginning... some feedback would be nice.
I know this is ages late, but just in case anyone else reads this and is confused, its due to your xp being "negative" for that level. just keep gaining xp and it will sort itself out.
Love it. Have been using slower leveling for years.
In the vanilla game (ALL vanilla games) it seemed to me like I leveled every time I sneezed. Wipe my nose. Level up. Drink a soda. Level again. Change footwear, level three. Sell poison to starving children, bring on the level menu. And, by the way, where are the squirrel bits coming from, since we see them as food but there are no actual living squirrels in the game? Ask a question? You have advanced to level five. My hero.
I have been using the 3.0, but I wish there was an MCM version so I could choose my level rate. I would set it to 4.0 or even 5.0 now. I LOVE the early game and the work it takes me to level, especially since I use other MODs to make it more difficult as well, such as Weapon Requirements, so I have to become skilled before using the best stuff in the game. This is a fantastic MOD and adding an MCM element so we could choose our own level rate would make it perfect. I know the options that already exist. I just want more of them. I like this sort of thing so much, I am just greedy for more.
In my opinion, which you have not solicited, slower leveling, especially if you do not have cheat items or MODs, makes you plan your character and strategy better. It makes RPGs into thinking games again. Or, as Dr. McCoy would say, "It requires a brain."
Using AWOP, MonsterMod, Angel Park, Monster Wars (and few other mods) in FNV Ultimate Edition. Before: Level 20 when leaving Goodsprings After (with 3.x factor) : Level 4 when leaving Goodsprings
Awesome!
I am nearly finished in main quest and doing Deadmoney (with Deadmoney immersive+Respawning Ghost people plus more spawns) and I am only level 30. Skill points problem can be solved via "Reusable skillbook recipes", where you can craft skillbooks from heaps and heaps of regular books(requires exploring) as well as having picked voracious reader.
