This mod was exactly what i needed. Working for me so far the ID's were even available at Mick & Ralph's despite what some comments below stated otherwise.
For those having trouble getting the cards to show up in Mick's inventory, they didn't show for me until I refreshed it (left the store and waited a few days) several times. This was in spite of (or maybe because of?) never having spoken to him or even entering Freeside before installing the mod. After two weeks worth of waiting around outside his store he suddenly was carrying them, along with some items specific to other mods I have installed (wonder if that was the issue?). Anyway YMMV but worth trying.
This was using the newest file, can't speak to the older one.
This mod is great for the following reasons: you want disguise? Use the ID. This means I can safely wear my Ranger armor whenever I want without having to take it off just for the NCR to recognize me as the Idolized hero I am.
However, I have one suggestion:
Faction armor makes the opposite faction hostile (like in Vanilla), and ID cards set your reputation with that faction to neutral, disguising you (like this mod already does). They override whatever faction armor you are wearing. Dress neutral (or same faction armor as the others) and use no ID if you want to be seen for what you are.
To clarify:
- Vilified by Legion, NCR armor, no ID: Legion is hostile. - Vilified by Legion, NCR armor, Legion ID: Legion is neutral. - Vilified by Legion, Legion armor, no ID: Legion is hostile. - Vilified by Legion, Legion armor, Legion ID: Legion is neutral. - Idolized by Legion, NCR armor, no ID: Legion is hostile. (Currently, wearing NCR armor makes them like you anyways. This is what I would like to change) - Idolized by Legion, NCR armor, Legion ID: Legion is neutral. - Idolized by Legion, Legion/Neutral armor, no ID: Legion idolizes me. - Idolized by Legion, Legion/Neutral armor, Legion ID: Legion is neutral.
Regardless of that, endorsed for its convenience and simplicity.
I like the Mod's Idea but ithink it can be expanded into so much more, like different Factions have different type of "Id cards" like Ncr have Dog tags, Brotherhood have the Holotags, Legion have like ranking sashes or something ( Romans really didnt have a way of Identification back then so thats all i got) and i think the mask literally should be Id for White glove society, Though a membership card works too. though for other factions, like Khans, boomers and PG's, because how close knit the faction is with everyone knowing everyone. but thats my opinion ofcourse as a immersion junkie.
Very nice, hope that my photo will make it through. Kudos and endorsement. Thank to you, fren, we can now run around in Legion armors in McCaran and no one would ever attack us.
