Fun fact: Tumbleweeds are considered as an invasive species, even though they are a combination of other plants. Great job for removing this dastardly fire bomb from the game, ma1025!
After a lot of sleepless nights and hours of research I've discovered this mod causes two major issues, the first one, which has been mentioned in the comments, is being unable to draw your weapon upon starting a new game. I never really cared to find the culprit for this in the past, as simply entering the console command "enableplayercontrols" fixes it. The second, a much bigger issue, is it somehow breaks the quest Back In The Saddle. When entering the Prospector Saloon for the first time, Sunny Smiles is supposed initiate dialogue and say Cheyenne, stay, etc, we all know the line, we've heard it a thousand times. I was only able to pinpoint this mod as the one causing my woes because some ancient, unresolved, and forgotten forum post mentioned having both problems, and this poster's modlist contained only one similarity to mine; BushesAndTumbleweedsRemoved.esp. Serves me right for using a mod uploaded in 2011. Hopefully the next person who decides their game could do with a few less tumbleweeds sees this comment and reconsiders
I suspect you don't even check this page anymore, but I wanted to drop my thanks, nonetheless. Since I have a shiny new computer with fairly beefy specs, I don't have the typical problems with performance that some had years ago... However, I have been experiencing issues with pop-in; bushes and weeds were amongst the worst offenders. Added to that, the frequent pop-in was causing a lot of micro-stutter. Now, my game looks much better (some of those bushes were pretty ugly anyway), and runs more smoothly. Cheers!
I was going to do this myself. The annoyance of them rolling everywhere in the wrong places apart from them perfectly shaped and rolling around the place like bowling balls.
It's a pity it's attached to scripts. I guess the alternative would be to re-script or reshape the mesh so it's not rolling everywhere. So much for immersion from Beth...
