The solution to the bugged texture below this post didn't work for me. But I did get the texture fixed by just dumping the meshes and textures folders from this mod into my New Vegas Data folder.
Steps: 1. Manually Download "Grenade Rifle - M79 - Retexture by Millenia" and unpack with 7zip/winrar. 2. Open the unpacked folder and COPY both the "meshes" and "textures" folders. 3. Go to your Fallout New Vegas Directory (i.e. where the FalloutNV.exe is located) and open the folder called "Data" 4. PASTE both the "meshes" and "textures" folders 5. If asked if you want overwrite, say YES. 6. Make sure to turn off, then turn on Archive Invalidation in your mod manager. As stated in step 8 of noahbenveniste1's post.
PSA to anyone having the bugged mercenary's grenade rifle texture:
1. Go to your Program Files (x86)/Steam/steamapps/common/Fallout New Vegas/Data/textures folder 2. create a folder called nvdlcpre4 3. create a folder within that one called weapons 4. create a folder within the weapons one you just made called 2handrifle
so you should have a new folder in your textures folder with the structure nvdlcpre4/weapons/2handrifle
5. copy over mil's 1stpersongrenaderifle and grenaderifle dds texture files from textures/weapons/2handrifle and put them in nvdlcpre4/weapons/2handrifle (that you just made)
6. rename 1stpersongrenaderifle to 1stpersongrenaderiflemerc (add merc to the end of the original) 7. rename grenaderifle to grenaderiflemerc
Make sure that these paths and dds files are named correctly
8, To make the game actually use these textures, you'll need to toggle off and on archive invalidation. In NMM, go to the tools tab at the top of the window and go to archive invalidation at the bottom of the drop down menu. Click on the box so that it's unchecked and then click it again so that it's checked. The mercenary's grenade rifle should now be using mil's textures instead of trying to apply the vanilla texture to mil's mesh. Hope this helps out someone.

Everything looks good except for the last 1/3 of the barrel when doing it this way. It's got the primer for the projectile all over it. Even tried renaming anything else named 'grenaderifle' and added merc on the end with no success.
Finally got it to work. Looks great; tho I wish some of the wood textures didn't all look the same like they were 'brand new'. I really liked the weathered look, just wish it was a higher resolution.
I don't even have a Textures folder in my NV folder also don't keep your modded games in the program files it can cause a lot of issues when your modding follow the viva new vegas guide for more information.
maybe my english is worse or i havent seen a solution here on the mercenarys geranderifle, but my textures are messed up too. ive looke for the texture paths und the meshes path but both are totally correct, like vanilla patsh. someone has found a solution to this? but still endorsed tho!
EDIT: okay, dont mind my post, ive found the real path didnt know that the mercenary rifle belongs to the mercenary addon! ^^ the new path was easy to find out via bsa viewer from the fomm.
P.S. but Millenia you should maybe fix that for unexperienced users!
I have a problem with the Mercenary's Grenade Rifle. After putting in this mod, the texture for the Mercenary's Grenade Rifle is messed up. I already turned on and back on archive invalidation and it did not fix this. How do I fix it then?
Probably forgot to include a texture for that. I'll try making one soonish, but if you want to fix it before I do, just check the path for the Mercenary's Grenade Rifle and copy/rename textures to fit that path
