To everyone still trying to get XRE working: I suggest don't because not only is the mod buggy for the past 10 years but there has been no input nor updates from the author and should be considered obsolete. However there is a solution for The Frontier without the majority of The Frontier infecting your computer with 30GB of crap.
aynone here have any idea on how to make this standalone mod compatible with other mods depending on it? I found this comment on the KnightRaven video "If you'd like to get other car mods that "require" the Frontier (such as Highwayman or Cars in the Capital) to work, just rename the plugin to "The Frontier" and convert it into an ESM in FNVEdit.", but I am new to fnv edit so I need a more detailed guide
this is awesome! it works with all of the frontier car plugins ive tried (and thats about every on the nexus that i could find, it is surprisingly difficult to find good addons for the frontiers cars, id love one that makes a driveable truck though if any modders are reading lol), but if you use wheels in the waste, there are a few models and things missing that it tries to get from the frontier files, like the gun runner vans around the map, but i just use the console to disable them.
also just putting this here cause i have nowhere else to post this. this mod makes it so you cant start driving right away, and instead have to learn to drive beforehand.
I'm looking at the comments and I can not believe the amount hairless children are complaining about game breaking glitches with a 2012 New Vegas mod.
There are other mods than this, and this is NV, and really you should touch grass and be productive with yourself outside of yanking yourself blind over a mod like this that hasn't been updated. Maybe some of you needed this lesson, losing a sh*t save to a game that can be more stable than the complaints here, if you just use time tested and or high quality mods.
"Last updated 11 September 2013" <<<< don't blame the mod for your stupidity and lack of brain cells. Comments like this seem to confirm that a lot of people still don't know how to use their eyes properly in this day and age, smh.
I know this mod is old and I'll be honest I havent looked through EVERY comment here but I want to add this just in case it hasnt been mentioned and someone else is having issues getting this to work, I had went and manually changed the INI files like it wants you to and everything but the "enable and quit" popup kept coming up no matter what, turns out it was because of the "ragdolls" mod, it changes the landfriction value to 2 and invalidates the other INI changes, SO! if you are trying to get this mod to work, keep having that error AND you use the ragdolls mod, you need to change the landfriction value in the ragdolls INI file to 0.4000 also! this is easy with MO2 you just right click it and hit properties then INI files tab.
hope this helps someone! cause this took me about 2 hours to figure out lol.
The default key I believe is the "-" key but you can look at your keybinds/menu by hitting the numpad asterisk, otherwise you'll have to look at the files readme.txt and check yourself.
Anyone knows how to fix this dreded XRE not enabled issue?
I have the required mods that this mod needs, but I can't to make it work and always gets that XRE - CARS!.esp not loaded issue even though it is all enabled
