I was really hoping for a proper M1917. This is unfortunatly not it. The textures are sub-par, as are the sounds, it's got a permenantly-mounted tripod for some reason I cannot fathom, it's about 20% bigger then it should be, and the last issue: 5mm ammo? Um, why? IRL the weapon took .30-06, .308 would be the right choice, and in fact a number of these weapons (M1919A4) were issued in that caliber before the adoption of the M60.
Some of these issues can be addressed with Nifskope and XEdit, but honestly, not really worth the trouble.
All that being said, it's a much better effort then I personally could even hope to produce, and if you're a fan of the Browning, have at it.
can you make the maxum gun next? also can make the gun a little smaller the 30 cal you made its a little to big it takes up alot of the screen and can you make it shoot faster? also i think theres a issue with the sound it cuts out and in sometimes but its a great gun and i have it in my load order :)
I wish he made it with the lmg animation, those things aren't nearly as big as that irl and they were issued with shrouds and gloves to protect your hand when holding the hot jacket. so its entirely feasible to shoot it like that. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Val_Browning_M1917.jpg
the belt fed 1917 is 980mm long, the BAR is 1194mm long.
It damn near impossible to aim down sights when crouched. The barrel of the gun covers the crosshair and too large of an area around the crosshair for you to be able to see what you're aiming at.
This is not the M1919 people, that particular Browning is air cooled. THIS is an M1917, what America used during WWI. It's similar to the differentiating between the M1921 and M1928 Thompson, people think the former (aka the Tommy Gun) and the latter (used by American G.I.s in WWII) are the same gun when they're not, at least not technically.
Some of the 1921 Thompsons were restamped to 1928 though .. they are visually the same. It's the M1/M1A1 that are different than the M1921/M1928 (http://www.imfdb.org/wiki/Thompson)
This is more like a Maxim then a M1919 Maxim:http://world.guns.ru/userfiles/images/machine/mg56/maxim_m1910.jpg Browning:http://pnmedia.gamespy.com/planetcoh.gamespy.com/images/history/m1919.jpg
No it is more like the M1917 Browning NOT the Maxim ... maybe the water jacket is t1hrowing you off .. the Maxim 1895, Maxim MG08, British Vickers Mk1 MG, Browning M1917 all use a water cooling jacket and thus look similar!
(edit: sorry for posting on a 2 year old comment .. just hate people misslableing weapons .. an AK is not an AR like the media state (well it is an Assault Rifle .. just in the AK family NOT the AR15 family)
No it's not - this is a (to be perfectly blunt) crudely-done render of a Browning M1917. Only similarities between the M1917 (direct predecessor to the more recognized M1919, probably what you were expecting to see) and the Maxim is that they're both belt-fed, water-cooled MGs from the World War era.
This model is really awesome. I love it! Can I make one little suggestion? Can you possibly take the tripod off? I don't mean to pick but I would prefer it without it if you know what I mean. Thanks!
