NVAC 7.5.0.0 fixes the Windows 10 Anniversary Update + up-to-date Nvidia / AMD video driver crashes / issues for the following: Fallout New Vegas Fallout New Vegas No Gore (German) Fallout 3 Fallout 3 No Gore (German) Oblivion GECK (New Vegas) GECK (Fallout 3) Construction Set (Oblivion)
It should also be installable via mod manager for New Vegas, Fallout 3, and Skyrim; would like confirmation that installing it via NMM, etc. works correctly for all 3 games (I only did minimal testing). Oblivion users will need to install manually (in Data\OBSE\Plugins).
To clarify, if you're using NVAC 7.4.0.0 or older and New Vegas crashes when loading a game, and nvac.log contains 00B57AA9, you're affected by the Win10AU issue.
only had my gaming laptop for 5 months im no computer wiz by any means all the videos ive seen on youtube on how to install this are outdated or way over my head ive got 7-zip installed ive downloaded nsve and nvac just dont know how to use 7-zip so therfore the mod wont work
Was kinda in the same boat, but it's really not that hard... I'm using Viva New Vegas as base mod package and when encountering a constant crash when using a certain weapon in Old World Blues, like every time (or 99% of the time) I would hit a robot with it the game would crash.
Eventually I ended up here. And this thing, as old as it is, WORKS! It catches whatever mistakes other modders made and deals with them.
VNV uses xNVSE, and updated version of NVSE, but installation is the same as with the original NVSE. Once xNVSE gets manually installed, in the game's folder there should be a Data\NVSE folder (path). This is important. Dump the contents of the 7z to Data, so that the plugin (.dll) ends up in Data\NVSE\Plugins. YOU DON'T need 7z, WinRAR is fine and more intuitive, but it's important to unpack the contents in Data since the archive already has the NVSE\Plugins path in it. Check that the dll sits in Data\NVSE\Plugins and you're done.
Once you start the game, check for nvac.log in the game's folder. If it shows up, then the plugin loaded correctly.
If you ever have this issue, hold the Windows key and press tab. From there you can open a new desktop and then open task manager and force close a crashed program that's hanging your PC up. A friend taught me this trick a little over a year ago and it's saved me so many headaches. It's especially useful information for the avid New Vegas modder.
there is no plugins folder in my NVSE folder, should i place the NVAC files straight in there or manually create a plugins folder? (for reference the only thing there currently is nvse_config)

For what it's worth, this mod does what it says it'll do
