    Notice!
FNVLODGen is not compatible with texture packs by default. Texture packs must include updated LOD textures to work properly with FNVLODGen to generate visually matching LODs. If authors are not around to create them, anyone good with Photoshop/GIMP of other editors can do that.
Check in NifScope what textures are used in _lod.nif meshes and update them to match new textures if needed. Keep in mind that normal maps must always have the same file name as diffuse with _n.dds suffix for FNVLODGen.

Sooooo.....do we need this or esp from for any "pregenerated" LOD packs?

Nobody has a straight answer. I looked at Viva tutorial and Burner pages. Figured the guy that makes the tool should know.

You already asked the same question in FO3LODGen and got the answer. Stop spamming please.

There really isn't a reason other than because it makes object changes to assign them a lod.

Access Violation at 00406c14, 'Read of Address 00000000' could you please tell me what I'm doing wrong? I integrated FNVLODgen into MO2 but I can generate, well, LODs.

I had previously got this to work in the past, but after reapplying them with a few more (Lod Additions and Improvements, Decent Lod Kit)  it just keeps giving me this and then stops.

I can't find anyone else experiencing this and have no idea why it would be happening.

if anyone could help me understand in some way what could be going wrong I would be very grateful.

Try the newer xLODGen, looks like the outdated version here has issues reading some meshes.

I appreciate the reply, I use FOMM and have an extensive custom setup that I've been working on here and there for over a year, it appears as though I would have to migrate this to another mod manager somehow in order to get xlodgen to work.  Some conflicting information leads me to believe that I wouldn't be able to transfer manually installed mods in my data folder to a new mod manager, am I wrong about that or is it possible?  If so, would Vortex or M02 be a better option for this?

I'm grateful for any advice you can give me.

Edit:  the problem is definitely Decent LOD Kit , after removing it I was able to generate Lod.  I might just accept that I have to live without it, but any further insights are always appreciated.

xEdit or xLODGen do not require a mod manager to work.

Hello, there is a small problem with your FNVLODGen Resources version. I am installing a visual mod called salvo. You may have heard of this mod package. It tells me to download your mod. I am downloading it, but there is an application called salvo.bat that checks whether all mods are installed or not. This application does not see your mod at all. I thought maybe it happened because I downloaded it from Google. I downloaded it from Firefox again. It does not read the mod called FNVLODGen Resources. Is this because of your mod or is salvo.bat faulty?

There is no problem with FNVLODGen Resources. The only problem is your "salvo".

I'm getting it too. I've followed everything to a T and this is the one issue I cannot fix. Oh well, guess I get to get used to purple rocks in the desert.

I'm getting the same issues. Purple rocks and I simply cannot find a solution. Honestly these mods are more trouble than they're worth just use Dusty Distance Redone.
  8.  Here is a pic of what my options panel looks like. How do I resolve this? Its all shrunk and missing the terrain generator options. I tried changing my scale and computer resolution which does fix the shrinking but it still leaves no option for terrain generation. I'm using the newest version.

If an ESM has an ESP (that has been flagged as an ESM) as Master FNVLODgen crashes with the following error message:

[00:00] Background Loader: Fatal: <Exception: "X.esm" requires master "Y.esp" to be loaded before it.>

(the error message claims the load order was faulty but it was correct).

Had to merge two ESPs into the ESM just to get rid of the problem.

I want to thank you for this tool it saved my lods. Don't know if it posted as I don't see it, but I'm rather new to lods in general. Is it safe to install mid game?

      Yes.
Any mod consisting of assets only is safe to add/remove in ongoing game.

Ok thanks my game is stable, and I don't ever like to add esp's mid game, but since you say it's safe I'll take your work on it. My lods were literally broken so it was definitely needed. Thanks again!

If anyone needs clear instructions on how to generate the LOD through Vortex, this link is very helpful:  https://www.reddit.com/r/FalloutNewVegasMods/comments/1c16vb9/generating_lod_using_vortex/

This is a great guide, and I was following it since I’m still stubbornly using Vortex, but something made me hesitate: it says after you extract the fnvlodgen file there should be 4 items in the folder? I am only seeing 2

Likely the other files are the meshes you need which are a separate download from the tool.
