Swap that camera for a laser gun and you can have your bots laser beam your enemies before ultimately exploding them to smithereens! Could be a fun mechanic to avoid lowballler enemies wasting your precious C4 bots, too.
Interesting indeed, but sometimes they are just too fragile to get to the target alive, would it be possible to make them stealth, like, using a stealth boy in the schematics to make them invisible?
seeing as you are good with custom skeletons I think it would be cool if you made something simmilar to bomb squigs from war hammer 40k, I hate those things, but they'd a good enemy
@AlecMitch, They look pretty good actually and would be fun to make, unfortunately my "to do" list is huge so I really can't see myself getting anytime to one.
I'm glad people are having fun with this mod, thanks for the comments.
@lorddragoblade, I am working on one of these bots to be a companion and I'll be including him in Custom Robot Followers 3. However he will be using an energy weapon instead, and hopefully (if the scripts are nice to me) it will produce quite an interesting effect.
or you could have used ed-e skeleton (or start up with a modified version of ed-e skeleton maybe)? i think it don't have any trouble with stairs. also give them the 'light-step' perk soo that they don't detonate trip-wire and frag mine.
the description also say that they will come back after detonating themself on enemy, but wouldn't it be more realistic and less op to just make them fully destroyed when they detonate on an enemy ? i can't possibly imagine that the c-4 blew away the face of a deathclaw but didn't destroy the drone that was carying the c-4 am i wrong ?
@magicgun, If you observe the mine bot closely you will notice that they have custom animations including their rotors spinning, if I rigged to the the ed-e skeleton all that would not work. The mine bot does get destroyed when it detonates (I'll alter the readme), the only ones that will come back are any stragglers who were far enough away from the blast so that they themselves weren't destroyed. Any bots who were too close to the first one will also be triggered to detonate producing a cascade of C-4 explosions, with spectacular results.
I'm in the process of streamlining the XP and Karma awarding script and I'll look into including the light-step when I update.
the reason i suggested the ed-e/eyebot skeleton is because i asumed you couls heavily modify this skeleton to add the needed body part for your drone.starting from the fact ed-e don't have trouble with stairs. and yours do (reading from the readme)
i look forward to see this mod be devloped its actualy the only full drone mod i saw on nexus yet.
Actually I say in the readme "they may". The base setup of their skeletons is very similar to ED-E's. These guys are actually my 13th custom creature, if you look for Custom Robot Followers you will find 4 new robots of which 2 are drones. Four others are in a couple large mods I've been working on, 2 more for the custom robots are in development, there's a mobile turret I did for another modder and the alien from Darkstar is a WIP.
