Could you make a little quest that you can heal the wounds that dog make in his body when he was in the sierra madre? y'know, remove that bear trap, that chain and all, and give the merged dog a new perk? (i will be honest that both merged dog and god should be on jacobstown)
This overwrites Dog's dialog for talking about eating the ghost people, making it not show up. Which locks the player out of getting the Ghost Hunter perk. By deleting this overwritten dialog in fnvedit this is fixed
It wasn't intentional as far as I can tell. The dialogue is changed to use this mod's Dog follower reference so the topics just straight up don't show up on the vanilla Dead Money Dog because the companion added by this mod is a new creature.
Check it in fnvedit and ingame, the dialogue doesn't show up for vanilla Dog nor this mod's added Dog. And even if it did show up for the mod added Dog companion the perk would be useless once you leave Dead Money since that's the only place where you encounter Ghost people and the perk makes them easier to kill
Also the Dean Domino companion made by this author has a similar bug, it definitely wasn't intentional. It's an unfixed bug
Well I mean it forces at least a slightly charismatic build in order to use a companion and it limits usability. I get that people like that sometimes, but not everyone does. Not everyone wants to use chems either. At least add an alternate way to recruit the companion like a quest... Even a fetch quest.
Only problem so far with Merged Dog is that he does not take accidental friendly fire well at all. He'll turn hostile immediately if you accidentally attack him.
Looks like I had a conflicting mod problem but I did some digging in the geck and I think there's missing something in the scripts for hiring and firing him
I like the concept of the mod, but the fact that God goes friggen rage mode when he gets hit by the player and turns hostile makes it unplayable. If I wanted a companion that turns on me over some small, accidental thing, I'd just go back to Dead Money and say something mean to Dean.
