Hey, I've commented under some other mod authors' posts seeing if someone could spare some time to make a Type 26 revolver mod; if you don't mind doing that, I would be much obliged, but no hard feelings if you don't want to.
You can load .410 into any gun chambered for .45-70, which is essentially the same thing as a slug without having to add an additional variant to the game.
The revolver seems to never show up in any vendor's inventory. I've tried on two new games now. Does it only show up after a certain level is reached or something? I've gone to level 5 and still no Judicator. .410 ammo and the survival rifle are showing up in vendors just fine. I haven't checked on the cane yet. I don't care about the single shot weapons, I want the revolver, and it'd be nice to be able to get it in a diegetic manner (i.e., without spawning it into my inventory with the console).
If it's level locked ok fine-but it's easily possible to get a Sequoia before level 5.
It is leveled, but I'm pretty sure I set it to be available about as often as the .44 Magnum Revolver. I don't know why it's not showing up if the other weapons are. I would suggest you use the Mega-Pack version instead of this standalone one, as the Mega-Pack is more actively-maintained.
I guess I'll check again and see if a .44 mag is showing up in vendor lists as well. I'm pretty sure I've picked one of those up in my playthrough, I think it was off a Viper though. Maybe I'm just having really bad luck.
I haven't used it yet but probably not, if it's in any way realistic: .410 bore is tiny compared even to 20 gauge shells.
For comparison just search online for a picture comparing common shotgun shells and you'll see it's MUCH smaller than the other shotgun shells in the game.
If you want a more in-depth explanation: shotgun bores are (generally) measured in 'gauge', which is a measure of the number of lead balls that could be formed in the diameter of the barrel from a pound of lead, which is why 12 ga. is a larger shell than 20 ga.
.410 is so small that its bore is measured in caliber, not in gauge- but if it WAS measured in gauge it would be 36 gauge. A 12 gauge would be .729 caliber- in other words, the 12 ga. shell can pack several times over the power (and payload) of a .410 shell.
The Taurus Judge and the Smith & Wesson Governor can chamber a .45 Colt in addition to .410 shotshells not sure if you are aware of that, but incorporating the .45 caliber round into the mechanics of this weapon as an optional plugin if the Honest Hearts DLC is installed will provide a 'slug' ammo type without the need of creating a .410 slug shotshell and would dramatically improve the overall aesthetics of this mod. Additionally the .357 magnum long barrel as a bull barrel style modification for better pellet concentration , a Optical/Scope sight for an alternative gunsight and a .44 magnum Heavy Duty frame for extra durability would make this weapon a complete tool kit for all to enjoy. This specific type of firearm mod is very rare to find in a detailed and quality form, an excellent well built piece.
Mod looks great and the shotgun also looks great from the screenshots, and I figure I've got nothing to lose from installing it. I've always had a soft spot for revolver-shotguns... at least in video games, I don't think they're quite so hot in real life.
Unfortunately, the use of a custom round does limit this a bit, by not giving you access to the full range of special ammo types. That's definitely a balance thing, so I'm not trying to demand you change it, and making a whole new list of custom ammunition in .410 is a lot of work. Still, part of me is holding out for a Spicy Judge.
Really enjoyed using this Pistol/Shotgun, thanks! Although I had to increase its base damage from 27 to 37 as it seemed to be rather low.
For example Caravan Shotgun has base dmg of 45 (50 for unique), which is almost twice as much.
With base dmg of 27 this Pistol/Shotgun has 3 dmg per pellet for 9 pellets (and some of them usually miss) which makes its usefulness fall behind of basic pistols. For example 10mm Pistol has 22 damage per bullet (24 for unique) + higher rate of fire, so by default 10mm Pistol is practically more powerful and more reliable since it also has bigger clip size. Also I suppose because of there is no armor piercing .410 ammo, that default 3 dmg/pellet gets reduced down to a minimum damage possible whenever the opponent has some DT.
The .410 cartridge is pretty anemic in real life and really only useful for pest control. You certainly wouldn't use it as a home defense round. It's basically meant for farmers to kill snakes and rats.
Hey there! Nice mod - it's AWESOME that you added .410 hulls and crafting recipes - but I noticed an error. .410 is not a gauge. Actually, the ammo should correctly be called .410 bore. The .410 shotgun is not measured using the gauge system. The reason for this is because using the gauge system, a .410 would be a 67 gauge.
I also noticed that when you reload the .410 revolver, the texture of the cylinder changes momentarily. Would also be cool if the Survival Rifle looked more different from the Single Shotgun.
My suggestion for the future with this mod would be that maybe you could even add a semi-automatic .410 shotgun like the real life Saiga .410.
Both terms are accepted in everyday use and I decided to call it .410 gauge so that people who aren't familiar with weapons will automatically associate it with shotguns.

If it's still a no-show I might try the pack.
