Nice, trait might actually be worth using now that it isn't just a trait to gimp your character for little in return. Why the rename though,
'loophole' sounds more badass imo. 100% gonna give this a shot though it sounds fun..

No idea what Obsidian were thinking by making it reduce max level, guess it must have just been to appease the crybabies who thought raising the level cap with the dlc's was somehow bad because apparently 'more progression and things to do = bad' so gave them a way to set it back to the base 30 to make them shut up.

Little in return? You dont get any addictions and all positive evects from aid items last twice as long. Thats a pretty big deal. And with just a few specific perks you can compensate for lack of skills.

'Little in return by comparison' then.

The 'no addictions' part is kinda useless outside the very early game if we're being honest as doctors are cheap and fixer abundant, the real draw is doubling the positive effects of aid items which is as you noted very good. But losing out on almost half the games levels and all the skills/ perks that come with them is massive even when taking the positives into account which made it not at all worth it unless you were going specifically for a junkie build or were one of the aforementioned crybabies (but in their case it's all benefit with no drawbacks so it doesn't really count).

Still stands though that this makes the trait actually usable and worth taking as the negatives are something you can actually counter through effort unlike before where you just really couldn't, before it was just stupid.

Getting every skill to 100, and maxing out most, if not all SPECIAL stats is not my idea how an RPG should work to be honest. Fallout 3 was even worse in this regard, so I am glad that Obsidian went as far as giving is this option for NV. Besides, some NPCs don't even scale to 50 without fixes.

if you dont like the base game trait DONT use it but dont comment about flaws it dosnt have personally i use logans loophole for the level cap (21 on hardcore mod) as it means you have to think about what skills/ traits and perks you want to build your character around thus making each new play through different

logans loophole is utterly busted and not taking it is gimping your character in vanilla. you realize that you can take it off in old world blues on the auto doc right? but you dont even need to do that honestly by lvl 30 you are a god in new vegas

clearly you DONT understand the movie reference this trait was named after and based on. the name Logan refers to the film Logans Run which is a movie based on the book by Philp K. Dick by the same name and is about a post nuke world that kills people at the age of 30 those going to be killed get a glowing spot on their hand and are then hunted by people. so making changes to this trait is pointless and seeing as the POINT of the trait is to make hardcore mode slightly better this mod is pointless also i personally like the level cap as you level way to fast and become OP easily at least with logans loophole it feels balanced

For those of you that don't know this perk is a reference to an old sci-fi move called Logans Run. Where anyone who lives in this society and reaches the age of thirty is "exiled." This is why the perk lowers your level to 30.

not a complaint, but the whole reference in general is gone if you don't make the number 21 or 30

Thats what I was going to say... This whole perk is a reference and if you get rid of the reference you might as well just make a whole nother perk....
