First of all try disabling all of your visual enhancment mods, It seems to be a zone loading problem- try disabling the autosaving too, no matter the circumstances, it fucks up your performance when loading a new zone. And last but not least, download the New Vegas Tick Fix and look for the NVTF.dll in Fallout New Vegas\Data\NVSE\plugins and enable the option "bModifyDirectXBehavior" by placing 1 instead of 0. I recently got this crash and tried marty's method, which didn't work. But then I deactivated MoHair and it worked. I'm not sure if this will work for everyone else but it's worth a try.

I'm having crashes on startup when activating the Famine loot scarcity mod. Not sure what's causing it. I'm using the Wild Card Modlist. If anyone could help me read and fix my log that would be pretty cool

problem- try disabling the autosaving too, no matter the circumstances,
it fucks up your performance when loading a new zone. And last but not
least, download the New Vegas Tick Fix and look for the NVTF.dll in Fallout New Vegas\Data\NVSE\plugins and enable the option "bModifyDirectXBehavior" by placing 1 instead of 0. Happens when headshotting ghouls, can't find a solution and I've been trying to find the culprit to no avail.
