Install the Unofficial Patch. Enable it. Then load your game and save. Then close your game, go into the config for Unoffical Patch. file and choose to remove the CompanionSuite perk set option to 0.(first line in config file references the option to change, not hard to find). Load the game and its reverted to your original carry weight and stats!.
Its such an interesting fix, you are essentially overwriting the original file the JIPNVSE creates, that reimplements the bugged/removed perk. So you use a patch that overwrites that same script that gives the config choice to actually CHOOSE TO USE this perk, (not just applied automatically like with JIP). SO now that it has overwritten this 2nd file, it gives you the config ability to turn a perk off that was secretly re applied to your game after the vanilla game itself removes, its almost like JIP re applied so much content it applied a whole bugged out perk HAHA. So you have to use another mod like Unofficial patch to actually fix a bug implemented by a fix. .....
Idk i find it funny. Anyways hope this helps at least one other person who wanted this perk banished to the shadow realm on their modded FNV playthrough. Alot of my mods need that JIP so....i couldnt remove it. But wanted my character not to be some god tier stealth archer, i want immersion. Stealth is broken in all these games ahaha!
So...what console command can I use to edit the carry weight of companions that were hired before I installed this? Not only have I been unable to find any such console command in an exhaustive search, but I also found only a single instance of another person even asking for it. I am baffled by this immense oversight.
edit: If you dismiss your companion and re-hire them, it will reset their carry weight.
Open console commands, click on the actor you want to affect and type the above phrase in. You can use the scroll wheel if clicking on them doesn't work at first.
I tried that command before, and it threw the error that it did not have a value to work with, which was weird because I thought the 75 was the value. I haven't tried doing it with the scroll wheel open, if that's what you meant. I simply selected the actor while the console was open.
Instead of ADDING a decrease, they should have REMOVED the original increase. I'm playing the JSawyer mod which removes their increase above player carry weight, and they still get the decrease, in addition to player carryweight having been reduced, leading to them having comically low carry weight values.
This perk is broken in vanilla and is only applied to Cass. And contrary to popular belief, it is not fixed by JIP LN. Literally all JIP LN does here is ensure companion perks are properly applied, but Companion Suite itself is still broken. Are you using another mod like Unofficial Patch Plus, Unofficial Patch NVSE, or Unofficial Patch NVSE Plus? Because those mods fix the perk.
Okay so I may have misplaced the source of the issue but it's still an issue. I already have a mod that reduces all NPC's carry weight drastically. And just saying I don't have the unofficial patch NVSE, I have xNVSE (which is required to run the latest version of JIP by the way). So in a roundabout way, JIP LN is related to the issue at hand, because I can't use it without using xNVSE.
I found this mod by accident when I was looking for FIX, but thanks to you, it helped me. I almost didn't get Veronica to wear her power armor. I think a lot of people don't realize the cause of the weight loss, but I'm not sure how they solve it?
Hey man, love your mods! I have a question: would a mod where dismemberment/gibbing is effected by limb damage be possible? For example, wouldn't it be cool if dealing 2x crippling damage (or any other damage requirement) would always result in dismemberment, and not in any other way, or maybe with a much reduced chance? That would sort of be realistic, as well.
Soo im tryna get alpha the 88mm but he cant carry all the weight. I thought this mod would work but looks like i gotta restart from the beginning which i wont do any work around so i can get alpha to use the 88mm?

I dunno if it's baffling, it's pretty obviously for balance reasons.
