Nice mod, great addition. Something like this is what The Legion needs to fit with their lore description. I think how they are now with 2x health and Toughness is perfect, fits with their lore, although one could argue getting beaten up for 1 minute doesn't necessarily makes you tough, but the lore says they are actually tough and so they should be. It would have been strange to see a Great Khan who wears just a leather jacket on bear skin and some leather trousers have more DT than proper armor, so how they are now is right. Thanks for the mod.
Thanks for making this! The Khans desperately needed an upgrade to live up to their fearsome reputation. However, isn't it a little excessive to give them 4-8 times the health they had before, as well as the Toughness perk? They aren't Super Mutants lol. For reference, NCR Rangers and Praetorians have only about 100 health, and you gave the Khans 400 health pretty much across the board.
Before I released the mod, I thoroughly tested it and earlier then their health was sightly lowered. (E.G. I once made them have 3 times the health instead of 4)
Even then they still don't seem to be durable enough, a Great Khan still happens to die within a few hunting rifle/shotgun shots when I last tested on Very Hard, because they have light armor as opposed to NCR rangers and praetorians, which has a higher damage threshold than Great Khan armor. A reminder: a loading screen tip implies they're supposed to be extremely durable due to the initation rite.
I tried my best for them to be really durable and tough while still possible to kill. Just a little hint: even though they're very tough, they're still vulnerable to other kinds of weapons.
Fair enough, it still didn't really make sense to me since the Legion also has brutal initiation practices but most of their elite troops only have 100 health. Still, I could just modify things on my end if they're too durable. Thanks for the response!
It's not outright stated but it's implied, one loading screen tip does say the different ranks of the Legion differ in terms of armor and toughness. It's not hard to assume that in the Legion you get regular beatings and along with Hanlon's dialogue of Veteran Legionaries and Centurions being tough for surviving 10 years in the Legion, it's not the same thing as the Khans though, but it really sucks how weak the Legion is compared to their lore.
I thought I'd chime in with the balance of this mod as a Very Hard player. When I installed this I assumed they still had the 4x health based on the comments, and it felt like it. I was shocked they were only at 2x health with the Toughness perk.
They felt a bit overpowered being able to take 7 Hand Loader Hunting Rifle shots to the torso.
At the same time the Red Rock Canyon is very open and easy to exploit them. Having recently played Dead Money, even a basic Ghost is stronger than one of these buffed Khans(Seriously, f*** the Ghost people).
Yeah, I think it's fine balance wise as it stands now in version 2.0.
I'm curious how well they fair in the battle for Hoover Dam.
I'm not sure. If I reverted back to their normal health, the Khans would still die easily even with the DT boost. And yes, I actually tested to be sure.
I haven't had the time to make a compability patch, so why not use FNVEdit and check for any conflicts with NVR3 and this mod? After that, modify your NVR3 so it's compatible with this mod.

That's because Oscar Velasco is using a package exclusive to YUP. After all, who wouldn't play New Vegas nowadays without YUP?
