Whenever I randomly hit that Honda Mio(本田未央) tune, I feel like I'm speeding through New Vegas... Just kidding, but this familiar tune really did make me laugh out loud on my travels in Mojave and Portland
Pretty cool, but have you talked with any Nexus mod about copyright? All these are Namco property. I've wanted to make a Radio Station mod for years now and I've never even considered uploading it because I was sure it'd get shot down immediately. Existing mods usually have songs from the 1930's or 40's, and even not all of those have lost their copyright.
I'm REALLY interested in a Veteran modder enlightening us on this matter. Maybe I'll ask around the forums.
I have not put any thoughts to copyrights, if it does not concern other user mods. There are many audio mods that clearly use copyrighted content and straight asset rippoffs from other games so it could be fine as long as these mods are not commercial.
Well, I'm by no means an expert, but I do know mods that use content from The Witcher, for example; have explicit, open permission from CD Projekt. Same with Konami and MGS 5 stuff on Fallout 4. I'd be careful and research a little if I were you, The Nexus is NOT lenient with this stuff like other sites, and it would suck if they banned you without warning (which they very much do). Course, if it's cool with the moderator team, I'm revving up my modder engine already for my new station too.
They're not. All it takes is someone to report your mod or a moderator to notice it and it'll be gone. Trust me. I used to have a radio station mod on this site and a moderator took it down (though they won't bat an eye to Conelrad or other famous radio mods with copyright songs for some reason). You're better off posting this to ModDB.
Might as well reach out to Namco? I'd normally chuckle and pat the head of anyone suggesting that, but that guy in the Fallout 4 page has a shiny letter from Konami (who are famed for their yuppie corporate douchiness) stating that he gets to put Both Snake and Quiet in the wasteland. I was more than a little flabbergasted and I'm in the works with a kid Quiet companion myself.
I'm sure that some of these songs don't belong to Namco, but to some recording studios, as CInderellla Girls are property of Cygames and such. And there has been Namco policy to never upload any Im@s song to any streaming service soooo.... I won't take my chances. Vault130 had a good idea to publish to ModDB and then theres gunetwork but I think they don't appreciate anime mods.
This mod is protected in the US by the Fair Use Policy, in which if it is being made for fanmade material, or otherwise not receiving monetary compensation for another person's work or licensing, it is acceptable. Japanese companies need to recognize this, because if half the fan games that got taken down actually went to court over it when Nintendo or others threatened to sue, it would have been laughed at by a judge. Wow, this makes me want to make a top gun OST radio , or a radio composed of OST music from other Japanese adventure games, but I don't know how to make it, and because someone mentioned the copyright issue below, even if it is made I'm afraid I can only use it myself :(

Whatever the case, good luck with your mod.
Let's hope that nexus managers are chill fellas on us small time modders.
