Just to clarify: For TTW you only need the Meshes folder from the new file, along with the full Main File. Obsidian overwrote the Vault 101 Security Armor textures with the Vault 34 Security Armor textures and made Vault 101 its own texture set; TTW keeps that setup. You only need the full new file if you're using Fallout 3.
Hey do you think you'd ever do something similar to Classic Vault 13 Jumpsuit for the Vault 13 suit? I'd really like that as an optional file personally.
I was trying to get the FO3 version to work for a week with no luck, including reinstalling the game twice and starting a new game each time. And also reinstalling and loading and unloading various mods to see if there was a conflict somewhere. I finally figured it out today after some digging around on problems with texture mods not loading. If you are having the same problem try going to "Dashboard" on the FO3 Vortex profile and change "Archive Invalidation" to Yes. That immediately made the suit mods work. Love the look!
I'm sorry but I'm confused about the sticky. If I run TTW, I need both main files but not the textures from the TTW main file or do I just download the TTW main file?
OK, and thank you for the reply. I just wanted to make sure I was understanding it right before I mucked things up. Appreciate the work you did on the mod!
Do you have any plans to add more versions of the armored and utility suits to be used with mods that add them? Or alternately blank versions to let people make their own?
i don't intend to make any more variations for this mod, but if you download it, there are blank textures for the standard suit included. i didn't advertise that, so it's easy to miss, but you can freely use that make your own textures with this as a base.
the blank textures are in textures\armor\vaultsuit\blankm.dds and blankf.dds
Oh, yeah, I saw and have been using those, but there's only blanks of the clean ones, not the dirty armored and utility suits, so that's why I was curious if you had plans to add those.
oh, sorry but i don't plan to update this mod any further since i don't have any of the source files anymore. you can probably still edit a blank version of those if you know what you're doing though. also, i'm working on a new mod based on the vault suit's vanilla design with improved textures, so i'll make sure that version does have more templates to work with!
Oh, that's unfortunate. Ah well, thanks for answering. Looking forward to that new mod - nice to finally get some decent vault suit retextures after so long. :)
Just chiming in to reiterate: I love this mod to death, it is hands-down THE best vault suit retexture I've seen for Gamebryo-era Fallout. I've even adapted it for use in Fallout 3 (not that hard to do)!
The only problem left with it that I can see, is that all the adult vault suits are retextured but the child vault suits are not.
thanks! about the child vault suits, i didn't retexture them because their design was already pretty close to what i was aiming for with the rest of the suits (darker colors, more prominent stitching, looks more denim) and i wouldn't see them anyway since i don't play fallout 3. i could see that being jarring in a playthrough though.
by "adapted it for use in fallout 3", do you mean the base game or ttw? especially if it's ttw, i'd appreciate a copy of your version to upload here if you're ok with that, since i only made this mod with new vegas in mind but plenty of people want a (fully functioning) fallout 3 version.
TTW didn't need any special stuff done to it, so no worries there. Fallout 3 however needed to have the Vault 34 and Vault 101 security armor textures swapped because apparently the filenames for them were the same (i.e. I was playing Fallout 3 with the Vault 101 security armor but it still read "34" on the back haha). It's simple enough to fix, just gotta rename a few textures.
I'll see what I can do about getting you a copy of my version, it'll also include a temporary fix I did to get the kid vault suits to match the adults (by which I mean I did a simple mesh replacer replacing both kid meshes with the adult male mesh). It doesn't look that bad imho.
Just DM me with your Discord or something and I'll see about sending you the necessary files.
May I make a suggestion? You should do the Powder Ganger and Sierra Madre Security Armour. The vests in the Sierra Madre and Powder Ganger Guard Armour is similar to the Vault Security Armour and the Dark Blue in the Powder Ganger Guard and Plain Outfit will match the Vault Suit Textures you created.
Other than that, great job with his mod. Will always stay in my Load Order.

sorry, this mod can be pretty unwieldy depending on your setup. side effect of it being one of my first mods and expanding in scope so much
