Something is off and I cant figure out what it is. Titans has sound in 1st and 3rd person but this mod, Alternate Power Armor Footstep Sounds and Power Armor Footstep Sound (PAFS) - Clean and Easy (NV and TTW) just wont work in 3rd person. FNV by default has no power armor sounds and I wonder if this is causing the issue. I do use your most excellent Project reality foot steps mod if that helps in anyway.
EDIT: just found out the culprit is the mod "3rd person Movement Animations Overhaul (and bugfix)". It has no sounds in 3rd person when you have your weapon out (and wearing power armor and using this mod )and as its just meshes its way beyond my skill level to fix.
cool mod, although it seems like this could be handled with a script + user config for volume.
fwiw i found an attenuation of 1762 to be ideal on my system (calibrated + tuned, not bass heavy). default is subtle with a capital S, while 2x is Pacific Rim-level sfx
So that means all Power Armors from TTW and Tweaks for TTW and any Power Armors that's added by other mods should not need patch for your Power Armor Movement Sounds mod to work on them right?
Hey, so, I don't know if I'd call this a "bug" per say, but I have noticed a strange inconsistency with this mod. I have a mod which incorporates the Enclave Tesla Armor from Fallout 3 as sort of an easter egg and, for a while, it too made the hydraulic sounds like the base game's power armors. However, upon reloading, it would no longer be affected by P.A.M.S. and it would take several reloads to get it to make sounds again. Now it seems to no longer be affected by P.A.M.S. at all. Have you intended for certain Fallout 3 power armors to work with this mod seeing as they are technically still present within the game's files? If not and this was just a weird fluke or exploit on my end, do you think you could make a patch for it or something?
No, I don't think I changed my load order in between reloads. Although I do have P.A.M.S. set very low on the list while the mod that adds the Tesla Armor is up pretty high. Should P.A.M.S. be up higher or even above that mod?
Edit: Weird...it seems loading into much older saves with the armor on SOMETIMES fixes the issue? The sound delays for a moment before coming back and then reloading into the latest saves carries the sound over. I don't THINK the load order has anything to do with it? I have no explanation for this quirk. In case you're wondering, the mod I'm using is "Alien Exterminator" by PinappleSurprise (the armor is hidden away in a crate as little more than an easter egg you can grab).
Edit 2: After starting a new game, I can no longer seem to replicate it at all...I don't know anymore, and I probably never will.
Seems there is an issue with the Power Armor Visual Enhancement https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/74786
The power armor sounds does not play if the mentioned mod is installed. Since I consider both mods mandatory in a modern New Vegas Installation, is there a way to make them work together?
Yes i gave a look at the PAVE files in FNV Edit. Some of the armors, like T-51 or the remnants appear to be using this string: ArmorHeavyAudioTemplate "ArmorHeavyAudioTemplate" [ARMO:0013D3B6]. Instead of yours. Replacing with yours audio files seems to work without any issues.
I'm also experiencing this bug, and having to manually edit the template in xEdit for the sounds to work. I'm also experiencing another strange occurrence: the walking sounds don't work in 3rd person. The sprinting sounds (JAM - Just Vanilla Sprint) work fine, and both sounds play allright in 1st person. Thought I'd let you know.
Wow, as someone who loves power armor, this mod feels so essential to use now. Especially with the release of Titans of the West 2.0. I finally feel *powerful* in my power armor. I think the only thing this mod needs now is some jumping/landing sounds. With that, this mod would be perfect. Even if that never comes to pass, thank you for this amazing mod.

As long as the power armor is inside the AllPowerArmor Formlist, then this mods script will automatically add the sounds.

I will look into it!

I miss landing sounds now xD
But it makes a lots of difference on the player
I haven't tried it so I dunno how it'll work for ya. But I cant seem to get pams to work with totnw or the new 2.0, yours works fine I assume?
Edit: pave is incompatible with pams, I'll probably wait for a patch, too lazy (dumb) to find a workaround.
