if anyone is looking for a way to bypass the NVlauncher if you edit the launcher_settings.cfg file located in falloutnewvegas folder. change BinaryPath=FalloutNVLauncher.exe to BinaryPath=FalloutNV.exe
this will make the falloutNV.exe direct launch the game
Whenever closing this game, it would takes forever for epic games to close it as it still "running" for it to cloud syncing for us to launch the game again Edit: I forgot to mention, I have the same problem from someone here. Game would crash sometimes when enter a door and something else, NVTF doesn't seem fixed the problem for me as it black screened the game and in most case it will crash after showing the blackscreen
Just tried this for the first time, installed game through epic, played, installed vortex, signed up for account, downloaded patch, opened patch at proper location, launched game via epic = launcher, press play = partial attempt to launch then game window disappears epic store relaunches. Either the instructions are insufficient or the patch doesn't work.
Consult this: https://vivanewvegas.moddinglinked.com/faq.html. Especially under "The game crashes or nothing happens when starting it". This worked for me:
Disabling Base Address Randomization
Open Windows Security from your Start Menu.
Click on App & browser control in the left sidebar.
Click on Exploit protection settings under Exploit protection.
Ensure Force randomization for images (Mandatory ASLR) is set to Use default (Off).
If you don't want to change the global setting, you can add an exception just for the game:
Click on Program settings.
Click on Add program to customize.
Select Add program by name.
Enter FalloutNV.exe in the box and save.
Find the newly created entry on the list and click Edit.
Find Force randomization for images (Mandatory ASLR).
Check Override system settings, and set the toggle to Off.
this works for the new frontier mod? I have fallout new vegas in epic games but the frontier needs the 4gb patch mod, and that mod only work for steam and gog, somebody can help me?
Hi, the game is not launching for me after using the patcher. I get an error window that says "The code execution cannot proceed because d3dx9_38.dll was not found." Can you recommend any troubleshooting options?
I'm having trouble with NMC's texture pack with this. It usually crashes when I load in, or enter a door etc. The modpage says you're supposed to use the FNV 4gb patcher but obviously that doesn't work with Epic and I get errors so I used this, but it doesn't seem to help. Same amount of crashes, pretty much unplayable. I ran the patcher multiple times and said it was already patched so I don't know where to go from here. I am using NVSE as well, and I have tried without.
I downloaded NVTF, placed the .dll and .ini files in the NVSE folder, and the bUseDefaultPoolForTextures was set to 1. Still never fails to crash, all I have to do is walk around a bit or open a door. Is there something I'm missing?
If NVSE is running it should prevent the out of memory crashes, you can check by installing JIP and running GetisLAA in console, the result should be 2.
I downloaded and placed the files for JIP as directed, but it keeps saying the GetisLAA command is not found. Or the GetNVSEVersion, for that matter, either, so my guess would be it's not enabled for some reason. All the files are in the Fallout New Vegas folder under epic (under which there is also a specific one called Fallout New Vegas English with the same files.) I tried placing the NVSE files, JIP files and the Patcher in both, ran it from Epic, the FalloutNVLauncher file, and nvse_loader.exe. Still no luck with the commands, so I'm unsure of what's going wrong. I'm more familiar with manual mod installs than using the NMM so that's why I opted for manual. And I did run the patcher in both folders but xdelta3 is missing from the top fallout folder so it couldn't be found when patching.
