Although it's illogical to have them sitting there without being salvaged for 2 centuries. And before you said something about radiation, one word for you: G.H.O.U.L scavengers. They would have drug them back home as source of free healing~ Think of The Underworld neckdeep in A bombs.
In Fallout 2 Supermutant mine uranium ores, and ghouls run atomic plants for decades before the ores ran out~
Being a little OCD, that little fact would have nag at me anytime I run across a crater site with a bomb sticking out~
I agree with what you said about them likely being salvaged. I'm working on a version that adds broken bomb pieces in the craters instead of whole, intact bombs.
I've gotten myself pretty tied up with other mod projects (I manage over a hundred mods) that's why this mod has been inactive for a bit. But since there is a popular demand for the salvaged bomb pieces, I'm going to make the next update a higher priority. Stay tuned.
Edit: The debris and salvaged models are almost ready. If you want to see a preview, check out my recent image upload.
Dunno if you still plan on updating this mod, but in Fallout 76 there's random encounter type that features an undetonated bomb you can disarm for some XP, but cutting the wrong wires will cause it to detonate.
Would be a cool addition if some of these bombs instead of being salvageable from the get go were instead still active and needed to be disarmed before you could remove the material from them, granting a bigger haul than the damaged ones, but triggering a failsafe if you mess up and detonating in a big explosion after a few seconds.
You should use the More Nuclear Bomb Craters version. However, if you are interested in the wild wasteland encounter bomb 'The One' being surrounded with a crater, that is currently only available as a separate file. I am considering also including The One crater in the More Nuclear Bomb Craters version in the next update.
I was thinking the same as well. He did say that the defenses around Vegas had still managed to knock out several nukes even with the Platinum chip being a day late. I always wondered why there wasn't more evidence of House's handiwork in the Mojave
See, they're intact because the Chinese bombs were specially hardened in order to penetrate several feet of earth before exploding, in order to reach the rumored American vaults and underground bunkers, right? The fuses were faulty, however...
