Is this mod BUILT INTO faster pipboy now? I still had some WSG reports that people were getting abnormal alignment with female characters without this mod, but the description seems to imply it is redundant.
It is built into the female aligned variants. Did they get the female aligned version in Instant and Faster Pipboy (No Stutter) or just the regular one?
And another thing to note, some Pip-Boys like Pip-Boy 2000 actually corrected the alignment in the model itself, so you want to use the regular version with it.
Apparently I failed to submit my response earlier! I think it probably was the pip-boy replacer. They were using the female version. I'll advise people to try swapping if using pip-boy replacers and encountering tilt with their gendered version. Will let you know if theres any issues :).
Update: I just discovered that apparently an attempt was made to fix this in Skinned Mesh Improvement Mod (by bending the Pip-Boy model itself which is kind of a bad way to do it).
I never use that mod, but in case you do, just wanted to give you a heads up.
What? I did the Pip-Boys in SMIM and I didn't bend anything, all I did was add new faces to fill holes, tweak the shading a bit, and reorient the glowing button textures a little because Wall complained about them.
The only thing I can possibly think of is my attempt at fixing the Pimp-boy, which is just the regular female mesh with the diamonds readjusted cuz the one in YUP is based on a possibly stolen Mission Mojave asset that doesn't even have tangents. Both are in the next TTW update so it's not going to be a "SMIM issue" for much longer.
I stand corrected. I looked into it again and the problem was actually introduced by YUP of all things, and I made this mod thinking it was a vanilla problem, so I wrongfully attributed the issue to SMIM. I have had YUP on for so long, so it went completely under my radar.
Did some digging and apparently the female Pip-Boy in YUP is from this, which does address the clipping as mentioned, but is the real cause of the misalignment.
Is it common? I know that YUP oversteps their boundaries and fixes things that shouldn't be classified as bugs, but I always just sort of assumed there's a level of quality control that would prevent this female Pip-Boy stuff from happening, but apparently not. I mean, did nobody bother to pull up the female Pip-Boy just one time in the game to check and see if it's misaligned? They just saw "it fixes clipping" and threw it in?
Some of my other mods are based on YUP meshes also. And now I might have to go back and check whether or not they've messed something up.
For some reason, on my end, this mod makes Pip-boy even more misaligned. Only mods that I have is No pip boy in Power Armor and disabling it does nothing.
Any chance you could also fix the Pimp-Boy 3 Billion alignment with female characters? I noticed that one is even more misaligned than the regular Pip Boy.
Hi, is there a possibility of this having an option to fix the clipping of the pip boy when it's not being used? I have it visibly clipping through my character's arm when I'm using a gun
I'm trying to understand something here. With a female character it looks like using this actually makes the pip boy tilt at an angle vs. not using it. Even the before/after image, the before looks normal and the after looks oddly tilted. Am I missing something here?
I'm not trying to be rude or anything I really just don't understand. Of course I read the description, over and over trying to understand here. Along with looking at the gif as it goes back and forth as well as enabling/disabling the mod over and over for a female character. Are you sure you read my question properly? Maybe I am just completely blind here but I was curious.
The description states: "No more tilted pipboy for female characters"
But without this mod the pip-boy looks to me exactly the same for male and female characters, I've never noticed a tilted pip-boy for female characters, but then when it's enabled it actually causes the tilted pip-boy for just female characters, which is why I was curious and reaching out.
Your Instant and Faster pip-boy mod is OUTSTANDING. I was going through the TTW/WSG mod lists and WSG included info to use the male/female version depending on your character. I created a male character first in testing and love the faster pip-boy. I then created a female character with the female version installed and noticed that the pip boy was now at a pretty steep angle. Tried the exact same thing with this mod as well with the same results.
You know I bet what it is is that one of the mods currently listed in the Wasteland Survival Guide fixes the tilt which is why this mod (or the female version of your faster pip-boy one) looks like maybe it over corrects and tilts in the opposite direction. Like I said without this mod both male and female look the same to me, but that includes a full Tale of Two Wastelands and Survival Guide install.
I've been looking up images of the tilted pip-boy and it looks like the ones I see in default NW tilt in the opposite direction from the way it's tilting for me when I enable this mod.

edit: So my issue is due to type 4 body, sadly. I'd do vanilla body but then I have to deal with an ugly face. Damn.
edit2: For anyone with this issue, use the CBBE Pipboy fix, it'll work on type 4 as well.
This was literally driving me insane
