Great mod, love it. Could you add a couple more locations? I'm missing mostly Sloan, Nipton and Boulder, but having some others like the GrubnGulp would be nice too. Maybe I can do it myself if it's not too complicated. Thanks!
1st I would like to mention that this mod is a great lightweight and vanilla friendly way to fast travel in style! 2nd I must preface the rest of this comment by stating that I am no mod-maker by any stretch of the imagination. I was attempting to add just a bit more "style" by replacing the Custom Bike Base.nif mesh file with one of the mesh files from this mod: https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/43894 and renaming the replacement file with the original name. Went with a springer front-end chopper with saddlebags and a sissy bar! Replacement file name: motorcyclekColdTravlersblack.nif Gives it a realistic Easy Rider kind of vibe to it. It mostly worked; From where I've traveled with it so far (Novac, NV Medical Center, Camp McCarran) bike showed up with the custom meshes just fine. Ridin' in Style! Once I traveled to Goodsprings, however, the only part of the bike that was visible was the sissy bar and saddlebags just floating with no bike beneath it. I could still access the gas tank, storage, and ride functionality of the bike, but it was just invisible. Was wondering if there was anybody else out there who might be tinkering around with both of these mods with better success, or perhaps anyone working on a compatibility patch between these two mods? Because honestly, they're both must haves IMO. Not a big review guy, but I am a motorcycle guy, and this mod gets an endorsement from me! Any invisible bike nonsense is a result of my own Tom-Foolery. Before my 'mod-tinkering' attempts both mods worked just fine separately from one another. Haven't noticed any serious conflicts thus far. Keep Ridin' Easy folks! :)
Good mod but if I had one suggestion it would be letting you add the parts to the bike one at a time rather than needing to get all of them first. With them being quest items they end up getting stuck taking inventory space until you can get all of them.
Quest items don’t use weight even if they have a weight listed. They weigh nothing until you complete the quest, at which time you’re free to drop or sell any of the extras you may have collected.
I will note for anyone using simple freeside open, there is an incompatibility. If you park the bike at the strip gate, the game will crash whenever you try opening the map. It works fine besides that though so you can just park at the freeside gate and walk through to the strip.
I had another report of a crash for that spawn, but for them it only happened once (or twice?) and never again. Not sure if they use Simple Freeside Open. Could just be something in that area. I’ll look at it when I have my pc again.
I might be misremembering, but I'm pretty sure there was already a mod just like this that came out years ago. It seems to have been taken down, for whatever reason. Great job, either way.
If it's the one I think it is, this one does provide more fast travel options, and uses modern scripting implementation. The only change I'd make is this mod using EC ammo like the old one did. Both my characters have a stockpile of it for said old one.
Oh yeah, I believe you're talking about Mojave Travel by PushTheWinButton. This mod here looks like an attempt at expanding and improving the same concept. Excited to try this!
Oh, it's practically a must for me! Combine with Caravan Travel and some sort of portable tent mod, and you'll never have to sleep rough, ever. A massive QOL improvement!
I like that this one has a limit on the trunk size though. A bottomless portable storage in PushTheWinButton's mod did kinda trivialize inventory management.
Didn't know about the existence of Ghostdancer's mod, either. I like the random encounter mechanic myself (I'd definitely expect to get ambushed in the Wasteland riding a bike), but I assume Roni8501's newer mod is more stable and up to date with NVSE's functionality.
Absolutely perfect the exact kind of mod I was wanting for a while now. MTB is great but it does a little too much for just a simple diegetic fast travel replacer and other motorcycle fast travel mods are pretty outdated in their implementation and again do too much.
Mods can look like malware sometimes to antivirus but im sure nexus would let you know if the files were so bad you shouldn't download them still though🤷🏿♂️
