Hello, I'm really looking foward to install and play with this preset, but I'm facing some issues, I guess i'm doing something wrong.

ReShade was downloaded, successfully installed and launched during the game, folder "reshades" for reshade presets was created in teh game folder, and your .ini preset was copied there.

I tried to select and activte the preset in the ReShade menu during the game, but it says the following: "no effect files (.fx) found in the configured effect search paths: ...Fallout New Vegas\reshades\..."

Changing the directory navigation in ReShade menu, reloading\reinstalling ReShade or the game itself does not have any effect.

I guess i'm doing sth wrong, since your archive only contains only an .ini file, and it seems like the program requires me to have an additional .fx file... Any chance you could provide some assistance?

      (cracks knuckles)

      No problem I got you.
So I recommend uninstalling your reshade from the FONV, and do a fresh installation and select  DirectX 9   (or DX9)
(--ppl say it is compatible with Dx9+ and up but to be safe select DirectX 9 for the prompt.)

now check all effects on the  "Select Effects to Install"    -at the top  right  of this prompt you'll see
"Uncheck All"  hit that then it it again to check all boxes. Saves you time from having to manually check each box yourself.

Put my file  "Intereshade.ini"  into your FONV folder were the exe is for the game.
Launch the game, and once at the main menu, After all the effects load in on the top indication.
hit the "Home"  button on your keyboard & you should see a box appear, this is reshade in the game.

Now don't worry at all if you see red text warning Saying something like
--errors occurred loading some effects: check log for details

You can completely ignore this it harms nothing, and means the game simply won't use
      some incompatible effects.

At the top of the blue box you'll see      | < | > |  ReshadePreset    hit that and then find my Reshade ini.
Sorry if this wall of text seems detouring but I just wanna give clear instruction bc I am me. lol
Much love my friend!  hope you enjoy it as I am,  actually have it FNV runnin' now and probably gonna play while tweakin'
Never a dumb question, only half-assed answers  lol
If you still got problems then I'll do my best to figure it out my guy.

Hiii, first things first - AWESOME MOD!!!

I was wondering if you could give me some tips on what exactly to adjust in the settings (or the INI file of the mod) to have a more smoother performance rate? My game was dropping frame rates that were way too low to play with (then again, I did find it kind of immersive in a way.) As well as knowing what other tweaks I can make to have certain features like UI to not be too blurry. Though maybe some other mods I have installed may not collaborate super well with this one so I guess I'll just look into that more.

I'm going to figure out all this on my own anyways, but I thought of asking for some help cuz why not.

Thanks for such an intricate and well made mod!

      AWE!!
      Thank you very VERY much!
Absolutely!  but I must go by memory now, I don't have  fnv  installed at this time.
OK, so the cool benefit of this preset is you can lower the games graphics without any noticeable changes.
      I recommend - actually just a sec. I'll do this in part  1  &  2

      part #1 The games settings.

Ok, so I would lower all texture quality to Low or medium, Keep the view distance at high/maxed if you can,
(I hate things pop'n in  objects,npc,shadows,buildings,ect... This kills immersion, if I can see far and wide I'm happy regardless of visuals,)
Shadows can be reduced to low or medium. Resolution is a heavy fps killer, I was happy enough with   1600x900,  but  1366x768
Resolution is pretty good if you're on an fps budget. That alone or lowering it further might fix it completely, leaving only the UI blur problem.
My biggest recommendation is to lower the textures, BUT WAIT, there is a setting I know about in the  reshade.ini
to basically sharpen image detail to look High Definition withoutmuch of an fps hit. Effectively potato textures, can be sharpened
specifically though  reshade  to appear  ultra quality. I found this months after I released this mod.
(I found and experimented with sharpness filters on DarkSouls and   (O,_O)  wow I'm absolutely amazed ppl/companies don't do it for optimization.)
Cause  1k Textures for anything can appear to be 2k with this filter to dynamically sharpen 1kpx1kp, it's like magic.

      part #2 The Reshade
Ok dokie,  so  - .. I took a few minutes just now to see if I can disable anything that could be fps harsh.
Sadly I did a very compact job from what I can tell, cause all that's there shakes hands with the others.
You could disable  AmbientLight  and  BloomAndLensFlares  setting, Idk if it'll squeeze 2-4 frames or not. needs some testing.
But all the other settings are  blood-relatives  to eachother lol,  meaning everything breaks without the other. 1 for all/all for 1.
NOW for the setting I mentioned before   "HD  Potato Textures."  seriously though, you or anyone reading this please try this out!
The setting is called  "DECL_Sharpen [qUINT_Sharp.fx]"  This is a chad of filters. find it, enable, and adjust the sharpen strength to preference.
There are other sharpness filters if this one is misbehaving with your  amd/nivid  drivers.
      ____________________________________________________________________________________________________
Blur fix! if it's over done/whelming or you hate it, the fx name is called  N64_Filter [N64_3Point.fx]
This is the filter I used to smear the games visuals to look   retro-relic-of-the-past   vibes.
Now if you like it but it's too strong you can adjust it by tinkering with  "screen width/screen height"
to your liking so you can still keep the vibes. As for me, I like it rn, but if I was to adjust it for someone else
      I would change
      Screen_W  942.000
Screen_H  672.000     and see if clears it up without removing the vibe.
UI fix!  Now... the   DosFX_Tech [Dos_game.fx]   is responsible by no surprise, but can be tinkered.
This is a core filter for the  True  retro-vibe. so I recommend NOT disabling it, but tuning it.
Same as  N64  filter,  adjust   Screen_W/H   and tune it with your  pipboy  out so you can see in realtime
to make the UI more legible,

That's all I can do right now gotta GO! literally now,
Path of Exile 2 releases in 10 minutes as of writing this message!
WHOOOOOHOOOOO, good thing I checked this page, if I didn't It probably would've been months before I saw you comment
This is for everyone to read btw, incase ppl wanna change stuff and which setting does what. Ahh 9 mins to POE2
      LOVE YOU ALL,
      LOVE you Joanna thanks again!

I use that add lights effects and offer suggestions for HC experience.
Love that you're loving it, legit makes me happy to know.   :)

while after playing with this reshade, I feel inconvenience when i use pip boy. Reshade helper mod can deal with UI, but seems not work for pip boy. Maybe we need to think of a way to keep the effects from ruining the gameplay experience. Anyway, it's still great job! This is the best we can do without the ability to remake a whole new game.

It occurred to me today that I could set the effect toggle key to tab so that every time I use pipboy it will be easy to read!

      Awesome!
Sorry for late reply, notifications didn't notify me.

I'm very happy you're enjoying it, you n' me are two peas in pod with this retro approach.
lol yes for me I found it on some occasions troublesome to read but I just would keep the pip zoomed in
I probably logged 20-30 hours of this preset so my eyes trained themselves after awhile.
However toggle is the smart IQ approach to what I did lol   <3
      Thanks man!  really

I was actually gonna upload a vid, but  YT  annoyed me to laziness,
      (setting up an account)
I am basically a modern hermit with an internet connection.
I don't even have an active phone number to be reached IRL
Hate phones, and everything needs a # nowadays.

      Anywho!!
      setup is barely 2 mins,
1 Download my file, and copy Intershade.ini into your root folder.
2 Launch game and open Reshade pressing [HOME]
3 find my reshade in the presets at the top pane.

I say try it out,  play for a few mins maybe 10 to see if you're vibin' or not
Just remember to set your In-game brightness to max and you'll see what I see.
Also thanks my friend! I appreciate it,  :)

Can I ask you a question? What if Abmient Occlusion works for everything from the 3rd person, but from the 1st person only for hands and weapons.  Installed  on DXVK (vulcan).

I'm not sure, I wish I was more knowledgeable for this.
Thanks for asking though, I don't mind questions at all!

Best thing I can suggest is turning Ambient Occ  off  (saves fps)
If you have fps to spare then leaving it on.
I know nothing about Vulcan api,
Oh sorry for late reply! I got no notifications so I didn't know till I thought to check
my page just to see if anything happened. Probably too late to reply to you but still
      my apologies.

      Will do absolutely my guy,
I will add other sets of it soon, like 1 for HC, meaning you need nightvision.
One for easier visibility, and one that's a compromise of both visions.
