General incompatibility with some Windows 10 builds.
NAMH may not function properly if the game is installed in restricted directories like C:\ or Program Files
Your antivirus software may be blocking NAMH.exe
Antivirus may have deleted essential .dll files from the NAMH folders.

You are not running app as admin :)
Problem: Game crashes during save loading with a message like "#@$@#DFsdf"
Cause: This usually happens when too many mods are installed, or a single .dtt or .dat file is too large. Solution: Install Wolf’s Limit Break Mod. If it's already installed, start disabling mods one by one until the issue is resolved. Problem: Game crashes, fails to start, shows a white screen, or appears in a stretched window
Solution:
Disable all injectors.
Enable them one by one to identify which one is causing the issue.
If the issue is caused by ReShade: Use the manual installation method described in the section below.
If the issue is caused by FAR:
Keep only FAR enabled.
Delete FAR.ini and dxgi.ini from the game folder.
Launch the game once to generate fresh config files.
Open the newly created dxgi.ini and add the following lines at the very top: [Import.ModLoader] [code]Architecture=x64 Filename=modloader.dll Role=ThirdParty When=Early
Save the file.
Copy new FAR.ini and dxgi.ini files to and replace ..\NieRAutomata\NAMH\Injectors\FAR\
Launch the game again — everything should now work properly.

If you're having trouble using the NAMH ReShade features, you can set it up manually. In recent versions of SpecialK, Kal has made the process easier. Just follow these steps:
Make sure FAR is enabled.
Disable ReShade in NAMH and do not toggle it again.
Delete any existing ReShade.ini and ReShade.dll files from the game folder. You can also copy shaders from RaShade folder to the new location, or just delete it.
Download the official ReShade installer. Open it as an archive and copy ReShade64.dll to the game folder. Do not rename the file.
That's it!
ReShade will now work like a standard setup. It will look for presets in ..\NieRAutomata\ and shaders in ..\NieRAutomata\reshade-shaders\Shaders..\NieRAutomata\reshade-shaders\Textures
If anyone has a fix or anything else please tell me. I installed Wolf's limit break patch as a mistake, and it deleated the entirety of NieR files, including the .exe I can't open the game from Steam and the exe from wolf's patch doesn't open. Have i lost all my game files? Or can i recover them?
I have this installed with a reshade, the texture pack mod, and remastered androids (that's it) and I cant even get out of the tutorial without the game crashing...not my first time playing this game modded but the first time it's been unplayable due to crashing. All the wrappers enabled, re-shade is installed correctly and I can pull up it's overlay, adjust settings etc...I just don't know what is causing the crash because there is no crash window or anything just a hard CTD.
EDIT: I downloaded the SK ARCHIVE detailed below and when the game crashed again it displayed a box about Riva statistics needing to be in "detour compatibility mode". I wasnt even using afterburner or had it enabled, but I changed the setting and by God the game stopped crashing and I could escape the tutorial. Not sure why the crash message box wasnt showing up before downloading the archive but glad to finally have it resolved. Maybe this will help someone else, someday.
If anyone is currently having issues just getting started while using this helper, try this. Once you do initial setup of the helper, download the latest version of the SpecialK 'archive' zip. (https://discourse.differentk.fyi/t/download-special-k/1461). Use the NAMH, go to wrappers, and hit the reload looking button on the FAR bar. Select the 'archive' zip. It should give a message saying FAR has been successfully updated. Launch the game.
Fixed the pop-up error of no graphic memory message but game doesn't start anymore it's only in blackscreen, i hear sounds so it does work and loads to the title screen but the screen doesn't move
I had this issue at first too. For me it was a simple fix. I was using NAHM and in the wrappers section go to Lodmod settings. Turn down lod resolution. This was all it was for me. Also on windows 11 you don't need the Wolf patch, but if you're on windows 10 you need it as it's literally made to fix this issue on windows 10
Hey there, really nice work! I really like that you are able to just drag the zips and that you will see which part is modified by the mod!
I had the problem with setting up ReShade directly in NAMH too and i just wanted to leave my workaround here in the comments:
I deactivated ReShade in NAMH and i cut the existing "dxgi.dll" (which was created from installing FAR/SpecialK) from the NieRAutomata main folder and pasted it somewhere else. (If you do not rename or cut/paste the existing dxgi.dll before starting the ReShade setup, ReShade will warn you that it already exists)
I then ran the latest ReShade Setup manually and after it was finished, i renamed the new "dxgi.dll" in the main folder(created by ReShade Setup) to "ReShade64.dll".
Then i copy pasted the first dxgi.dll back in the folder, started the game, opened FAR/SpecialK overlay and activated ReShade, selected it to be early injected. Then i restarted the game.
Now both ReShade and SpecialK will load and you can open them with the normal shortcuts (Pos1 for ReShade; Shift,Ctrl,Backspace for FAR/SpecialK.
