ive heard about this for a while now but it wasn't till i finished drakengard 3 the other day, as of this comment, and that people told me this was related, that i finally decided to install it. not sure why i waited but i'm so glad i did. it made one of the already saddest parts of drakengard 3 even more heartbreaking with the music that was chosen
For one of the most popular games of all time, having this few downloads for a totally unique experience is kind of pathetic. Maybe you should have gone about this in a different way than gaslighting the entire community?
this was never supposed to be a released mod nor was it supposed to be marketing for the entire community to use the tools. These are already existing tools with the addition of map modding capabilities. The initial goal was to mess with the modding server, but posting directly in the main chat would've made things so obvious so we went the route of Reddit and Discord servers to see if we could get it to spread there. Even the church itself was going to be an asset rip from another game. If you check previous messages posted online about this, itll say the same thing. We even assumed that Lance would call us out as soon as he saw the mod (since he has access to the entire PS4 archives). So I don't really think it's a big deal if it didn't get downloads at all. I'd say it turned out way cooler than we imagined it to be.
I'm late to the party, but just now found about it and the story about it. You guys did something amazing, greatly capturing the heart of NieR and Drakengard series. No wonders people speculated that it could really be part of the game. Thank you and congratulations on creating something that no one believed possible. Awesome mod <3
i'm not the one's actively developing the tools -- woeful and raider are but ill try to explain. NieR2Blender has been a tool years before this mod was conceptualized. The tool isn't just for modding but many people use it to extract models or information about automata. To continue, its maintained on github, which is where many modding tools and software are kept up to date with features like forking and branching. NexusMods is built for mods and uploading each version of a tool would be a pain in the ass. The extension of map modding was only added in 2023 with regular mesh modding built in since it's release.
Thank you for explaining I do appreciate it. The reason I got the idea of tools being uploaded here on nexusmods as well, was for posterity and secondly because there are already other very important tools/entire programs uploaded here as well, such as Mod Organizer 2, Wrye Bash, and other similar stuff can be found in the form of programs and expansions to programs. So that's why I got the idea and asked, and I personally like completeness, in other words since the mod is here , I look at it as sort of romantic having necessary tools in the authors/uploaders collection as well. Still, thanks for all the cool uploads and explanation, see you. Cheers.
The video that showed it opening demonstrated an ability to modify Nier Automata that does not currently exist in the public domain. The church itself is a mod created to demonstrate new modding tools.
These tools are not currently available, neither are any mods made with them.
This is likely due to the difficulty in deploying tools and mods in a live environment. Different people use different builds of Windows, emulate on MacOS and Linux, install to different drives from where they install Steam, and that doesn't even begin on whatever proprietary code was involved. The demonstration of the church is a barely functional build, and something more stable that doesn't, for example, make the whites of 2B's eyes disappear or some such nonsense occur is needed. As a result, it could be weeks or months before the tools release. When they do, well...
Nier Automata is the best work of philosophy since The Republic by Plato (trust me, he'd hate Bezos) and it's not close. When the tools to wallow in greatness release, don't doubt they'll be well used, and the internet may be flooded with Nier Automata mods.

they've been available for the past month.

It isn't currently possible to open the church.
