Please update the JSON text you're looking for in the mod description. The text in the JSON you're looking for is "PersistentPlayerBases", not "Persistent Player Bases".
Hi, I use Goatfungus Save Editor and open save2.hg, I go to Edit Raw JSON and the directory PlayerStateData>PesistentPlayerBases no exist. I only apear in save2.hg:
I really wanna try this mod, but cannot figure out how to install it. I have no .json files in my save folder, they are all .hg files. If I open one of these in notepad it doesn't seem to be in the same format as the mod file. What am I doing wrong please?
Use either Goatfungus or NomNom save editors and use the menu in either to open your json files. The hg files are encrypted. The json is essentially the decrypted, editable version. When you press save on the editors, it writes the changes back into the hg files.
Thanks for your reply, I was quite nervous about attempting to edit a save, but really glad I gave it a go. I couldn't work out how to import it into NomNom, so edited the .json file. I really like it, even though I got thoroughly lost for at least 10 mins :-). It was quite laggy, but that is down to my computer being so old. Gotta upgrade soon anyway for Win 11. Thanks!
I love this base layout. Only one issues is that the grow rooms are completely unpowered. When I try to make any connection to supply power to the floor, it gives me a "cannot build" base out of range error. Am I missing something?
I am sorry I should have been more clear, yes the bio domes as well as the carbon planters in the passageways are all unpowered over the entire level and I cannot find away to get power to it because it brings the base out of range error I mentioned whenever I try to connect a power cable.
I have have not changed or altered anything since I installed this mod (it is awesome btw) a couple of days ago. If it makes any difference I am using a Pirate freighter.
If you need anymore information or screen shots I am happy to help.
Hmm. I'll look into why the biodomes aren't working. Can they be harvested? If so, do the plants regrow despite the lack of power? The standing planters will regrow as soon as you walk a few metres away from them, regardless of power, so power not needed for them, though the icon is annoying. You might be able to get the various stuff working by simply placing a pill light on the connectors for anything not powered.
Ok I installed the update posted today and no help.
If I manually harvest the biodomes the plants do appear to regrow. No help with the pill lights. I tried to place them all over the area and each time I tried to connect a wire I got the same cannot build message. And in testing the floor planters would often give me an "Outdoors - Invalid Biome" error when trying to place seeds.
Going to be offline for about 24 hours doing a new PC build. I will test more when I am back up and running.
Only issue I have with this base is the Nutrient Processor on the first floor has Sulphide and Radon icons in the Input slots, and I can't take them out, nor can I actually add those elements in in order to take them out like I could the Large Refiner. The processors in the kitchen on the 2nd floor don't have that issue. I also tried deleting the Nutrient Processor room on the first floor and replacing it, but it wasn't selectable, presumably because I had copied the code into the json over my original Freighter Base.
This must be specific to your save file. I'm not experiencing anything in there. I've also not refined those items before. Also, that info isn't stored within that part of the save file. Whatever is in any existing refiners or nutrient processors, is stored in an entirely different part of your save file. It might be that you were previously refining those items from your freighter before installing this mod. I figure it wouldn't let you delete the room because there's stuff stored in there. First things first - try moving the freighter to another system, and then further moving it within that system. Go to new system's space station, save & reload. Then check freighter to see if issue persists. If it does, you'll need to clear the part of your save code that stores the nutrient processor & refiner info. I'll get back to here when I've figured out what that part of the save code is called (unless someone beats me to it here).
I was able to fix it. Seems the game had transferred ownership of the base layout to me, as my username was listed as the owner, and I was able to delete the Nutrition Room and rebuild it, though I can't give it the color scheme it has, to which I compromised by using the closest color I could use and making the Storage Room across from it the same color.
I dunno if it's why,m but FYI, you can transfer colour schemes from one part to another by selecting a colour scheme on one part, then staying in the build menu, moving elsewhere & pressing the colour button on a different part.
What do you mean? I'm not aware of anything particular that has been added for freighter bases. I have however, updated the mod with more posters & decals, and a couple of new items.
This one is way better than the prior one. The prior one I kept falling through the floor and gave up. This one I can freely explore. Only problem is getting lost. I just placed a flaming barrel by a stair case, so I can find it again. Hope I don't burn down the Freighter.
I've been able to use this before, but suddenly Goatfungus's save editor stopped detecting my saves. NomNom can still read them fine, so it's not a savefile corruption or anything. I know NomNom has JSON editing capabilities, but it's not as fancy and tabbed and paginated like Goatfungus's version, so I can't figure out exactly what to replace with your code in order to use the layout.
Hmm. Goatfungus working fine for me. Have you tried re-installing it? Also take a look in the menu at where it is looking for your saves. Might be in wrong location. I'm barely familiar with nomnom. Does it allow you to edit your raw json save file? If so, you're looking for a part called 'persistent player bases' and the freighter base is likely to be the second one; but look for the name of your freighter, (or some obviously freighter based part names), to be sure.
I did try reinstalling it, and I made sure it was pointing to the right location. Re: NomNom, yeah, it allows editing the raw JSON, and I did find the start of the section to replace, but (on a fresh freighter) I can't figure out where that section ends. EDIT: I just tried it again with Goatfungus's save editor and it's suddenly working again. Very odd, but definitely happy to see it.

Pls, I need help I am new with this mod...

Is it all of whichever one of these, or just some of them?
I can investigate if I know more.
