The mod just makes it so that you don't have to charge the glyphs. You still have to know the glyphs themselves to be able to use portals. If you don't have them, either complete the Artemis story line or give them to yourself with the save editor.
I've been using your Mod for some time now (since well before the Singularity Update). At least that's when I discovered this mod anyway. I use Vortex Mod manager so I don't have to fuss with anything and it doesn't screw anything up if I need to enable/disable, etc while troubleshooting. Well, unfortunately, it took me a while to figure out but darn it, No Charge Portals Just doesn't work anymore. I have updated to Echos Ver 4.43 (Steam PC) and I've disabled ALL but this mod and it's definitely the culprit. When I approach a portal, it pops up like it wants to activate alright...but there's no (e) symbol on the screen indicating to the user to press the (e) key to call up the portal menu. Even trying to press the e key does NOTHING. The portal looks kinda empty too. The center of it looks empty and dead. At any rate I've tried everything. Teleporting to other bases and back, warping to other planets with portals, but all of them act the same way when approached. They open but you cannot access the portal menu. Your last version worked flawlessly so something in the update code caused it I'm pretty sure. I'm using another mod for the time being that also has the No Charge Portal feature but it puts a mini portal on every Space Station. I don't really like that option, but it works with the current version of NMS, so if you could take another look, I'll gladly switch back to Lenni's Mod :)
Is your portal already active? If yes, go through it. It should then work on the other side. If not, you probably went through the portal before and called your freighter/went to the space station. In that case just warp to another system and search for a portal there.
I hope you can keep it updated better then me XD....life problems. For now I have added a link on my older mods page so people can find this if they land on it.
Do you have other mods running? Do they work? If not, do you get the Mod warning when starting up the game? If also no, you should delete the DISABLEMODS.TXT file in your PCBANKS folder. Make sure the mods are in PCBANKS\MODS.
If other mods are working fine, have you tried starting the game without them and just this mod?
charging the portal everytime became very tedious first time fine but after that it should be free your a traveler and you dont deserve taxes. thank you for this
