Tried it with World Part II and my FPS dropped from 80 to 20.

I haven't tested it with Worlds Part II, nor was it designed for it.  HG's update notes that work has been done to improve and rework asset caching, specifically the problem this mod tries to correct.  I'd advise against using it with the latest update until further notice.

The lag spike is caused by loading a lot of compressed textures all at once from the game files.  The only way to supersede those files is to include them, uncompressed, inside a mod .pak, so the game loads them instead of the ones from the base game.

At IanM32 .. I dont know if you want to link this, but check out NMS Decompressinator ..
    https://www.nexusmods.com/nomanssky/mods/3126?tab=description&BH=0
.. It decompresses, and repacks all files in PCBANKS.

So it does the same as this mod idea, but for ALL GAME FILES.
    Load lag into space, gone.
Load lag using the teleport to your Freighters Bridge, gone.
Load lag on some planets of all the assets, gone.

If Hellogames never get round to fixing the load lag issues on PC, then NMS Decompressinator batch script can just be re-run after any future updates.

Very cool.  Similar philosophy to what we did in the early days of modding the game, before it officially allowed them - unpacking all the game files and running them loose and modified.

The lag spike when leaving a planet is particularly annoying (the reason I still maintain this mod), but running the script you've linked would probably smooth out a lot of other stutters in the game, too. If one has the disk space to spare, this is a great way to optimize performance.

    Hiya.

I just installed it via Vortex, and it works flawlessly.

Why is this not part of the base game?

    Thank you. :)

ok but where do i place the "NoLagLeavingPlanet_v5.pak" file? all of the instructions given by the original post said to only put the NMSARC.MeshMisc.pak into the PSArcTool, generate the Models folder and place on GAMEDATA folder
