I'm on Windows 7 and i finally did get it to work by setting the VJoy.exe file to Admin. I still hear the 'ping' error message thing on launching NMS, but after the Admin rights change Vjoy started to work.
You have to be flying to be able to use it. Also remove it completely and follow the exact steps of the readme (place the files then make sure the 'enabled' box is ticked BEFORE you set the controls up), just in case that has got mixed up in your attempts to get it working.
Hopefully this will not be another black mark against Windows 10 and you can get it to work.
I cant seem to get this to work for me. Every time I launch the game I hear the windows 10 notification sound even though there is no new window and when I try pressing the buttons in-game nothing happens. Ive tried running it as admin and it makes no difference. Any ideas?
Hi there, is it possible that this mod could work with just using a joystick (instead of mapping keys to vjoy) for the freelook input? I have a headtracker (EDTracker, for anyone interested) that acts as a joystick when attached to the top of my headset so it would be amazing if I could get that to work with this mod. Cheers!
EDIT: Had a think and will have a go at mapping the head tracker input to the joystick in Vjoy when I get home tonight and report back!
You don't need Vjoy for that, just download x360ce x64 from here http://www.x360ce.com/Files/x360ce_x64.zip, put exe file from archive to where you installed my mod, launch it -> In "Controller Setting" select your EDTracker Device at the top, next to it should be NMS.exe, click save, return to Controller 1, now tweak right stick Axis until your headtracker works correctly, save, close. You won't have to launch it again if everything works correctly in the game.
If that doesn't work, then you can try this guide to make it work: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=593645539
Hi there, it works, but will need some serious tweaking. I thought it wasn't working until I took the device off and moved it around lots only to see that it had configured incorrectly. I'll let you know if I can get it sorted.
Works as advertised, though you can't move while stationary (inside ship), you have to be in motion for the mod to work. I don't have a controller connected but maybe this is just game's thing.

On windows 10 you need to run vjoy as an admin and it should work. And obviously nmse as an admin also.
