CTD on run under Windows 8 64 bit (tried running as admin and in various compatibility modes). Curious if anyone else is experiencing this. Used to run fine on my XP box years ago, but we all know 8 is ... "special".

SUPERB tool: allowing you to tweak OBLIVION in ways I didn't think possible: esp. the tweaks in the profiles tab are great, allowing you to change settings that are CPU & Render related with ease & clarity, resulting in better visuals & CPU usage provided you have the machine for it, also resulting in more stability in several scenarios. Make no mistake, this is no miracle tool, it improves many things but the game engine itself is old and has many limits: this can bring the most powerful PC to its knees: it won't provide a perfect CTD-free game neither, but it will provide more & better features compared to vanilla settings that were meant to run the game on machine far less powerful back when the game was released. KUDOS & Endorsed

This is such an amazing little utility. Now I can edit my INI file much more cleanly and easily, no more mudding through all those settings in Notepad. Thank you so much. <3

Skoran: If you look in the DataStreamlineDocumentation folder you'll find a file called "Streamsight Fog Ranges.mht".

This basically gives you a guideline of what the values should be in both the sl.ini configuration file, and the oblivion.ini configuration file.

Basically in order to have the correct fog range, your uGridDistantCount, and UGridDistantTreeRange (in Oblivion.ini) need to be the same, and to have an appropriate Min and Max Fog ranges in the sl.ini file to match them.

I used Tweakoblivion to tweak my ini but now I always have allot of fog due to streamline. When I let streamline reset the ini, I get this error:

What do I have to change so I can use streamline normally and remove the fog?

It is a false-positive. I use AVG and run this and never get any warnings.

I don't want to rate this mod poorly unless someone else has the same problem...but does anyone else get a virus warning when they try to install this EXE? I'm running Norton IS 2009.
