Hello everyone! Does someone have by chance a working esm plugin for the mod? Since I really want to try it and generate LOD with LodGen, but it seems the ESM file for Ubanga part 1 is broken or not recognized by MO2! Thanks to everyone who'll be able to help! Regards,
This is one my favorite mods ever. I keep hoping someone would step in as a co-author to release it in a bit more polished state.
I heard of Ubanga some years ago, and thanks to the README doc and the helpful people in the comments, I was able to explore it despite my technical ineptitude. The landscape is especially stunning in the Southern coast of Maranta. I highly recommend traveling from Arazzo to Calamaniali by foot.
Some notes:
- I keep crashing to desktop when approaching Arazzo, like 80% of the time - Random crashes also happen when entering a door and loading into a new worldspace - Some quests were broken for me (a bartender in one quest didn't have dialog, for example) - Some NPCs are in weird locations, like one boat captain hiding in the wrong house in Calamaniali - I couldn't find the ticket seller in Imperial City, so i had to travel via console command (thanks to whoever posted it) - The woman from the main quest keeps following me throughout the world after I helped her, and sometimes I get a note that she died, which fails the quest - THIS MOD IS HARD TO FIND! The main upload doesn't even show up when you search for "ubanga". I was lucky to hear about it randomly.
If these issues were addressed and everything was fully translated, and maybe add ai voices for NPCs, I'm sure the community would take note. This land has huge potential for further modding too.
It's now dawned on my mind! Does anyone know how many square miles (square kilometers) Ubanga really is, like how many square miles/square kilometers are in Maranta, especially?
Here it is 2023 now and I'm just getting back to playing thru this massively wonderful mod, exploring the lands, wandering along the rivers, climbing the mountains, exploring the towns and cities, and everything this massive mod has to offer for my massive sandbox game called Oblivion! I don't thing there's ever gonna be another mod out there quite like Ubanga! And I want you to know, that this mod, along with others like the TWMP series, Windfall, DIbellas Watch, The Underdark, and The Lands of Zedar, has given me many hundreds and hundreds of hours of pure entertaining gameplay, in which my main character has already netted in 965 hours so far and climbing! And guess what? I still got alot more to explore thru in Ubanga alone!
Do note the only bug issue I have, besides the crash at that one fort I mentioned in another post, is major lag issues in the dense rainforests of eastern Halios Island (the island where you take a boat only on in-game thursdays) where I have to look up to the sky for the lag to dissapear! And I have excellent computer with top of the line graphics card and cpu thats top of the line! Why it lags big time in that one forest in Halios Islands is unknown!
Thanks so much Alimal. What an incredible piece of work. The combination of huge explorations, breathtaking scenery, and mountain climbing challenges is brilliant. Your work is keeping me entertained for a long time. Sorry to see you taking an extended vacation but I understand you would need a break after so much work.
Sorry to post a bug report this late in my Ubanga playthru, but now that I'm doing the Ubanga Bandit questline on version 1.2.2, I want to point out a major bug report!
The game seems to hard-crash to the point of having to do a complete hardboot of the PC everytime I come to near the Fort Syrian, especially if approaching it from the west! Just wanted to point out this major bug report that way someone can make a fix for it!
Yes, I have that, too. Lucky me can terminate the frozen Oblivion w/o any hassle (Win10).
In an earlier version, I had got past this quest stage. Now I have speedrun a new character to that point (stage 120 in quest AALQ4) in the current version. We can visit the place when the NPCs enabled by the quest -- and some decoration along with them-- aren't there yet (there's only one random Bandit Bowman standing guard). At first glance in CSE, everything seems to be in order (though CSE is prone to freeze when fooling around with the Render window). No idea what could go wrong there.
As a temporary fix I would suggest to skip the Kill-Mwaku quest stages altogether, and to let the quest giver in Sarta (the Komandante) show us to Fasari right after the bandit cave quest stages. We would miss out on one tough fight.
Ok. Instead of doing that, I simply disabled all the bandit refs in Fort Syrian (and one pig ref). There's still the boss to fight in Fort Syrian, and that's that. Works for me. If this does the job for you, too, than I would go and re-enable one ref at a time in order to see where things break.
You need a savegame before the Komandante gives the order to go to Fort Syrian.

I already used a console command cheat to get past the quest stage for the fort syrian boss! So is your patch still gonna work regardless by getting rid of the hard crash glitch at the fort?
I'm so very sorry having come across your posting as late as just now (severe hardware crashes may serve as an excuse and all). My patch is really only to prevent the insta-crash when approaching the site (for reasons infathomable to me). I think there is no point in applying it AFTER one has passed that stage. Good luck, fellow traveller. :)
Sorry for late reply, but I'm now thinking I may have to use to patch after all, but refuse to download it from the site as it's an unknown site to me! So can you please upload the file to The Oblivion Nexus for us all to use just in case?
I was expecting the typical poor made New Land mod but this is Brutal a complete new world surprisingly well detailed and very large the creator had to spend hours and days making this mod all cities with NPC and lives just brutal, screenshots with a couple of redguards show nothing of what this mod really is.
Either something's screwy with how MO2 deals with mods or the way the first part was made, but UBANGA.esm isn't being installed even though it's in the folder.
Also, I'm still stuck in Tamriel when the game starts. Is it supposed to be like that and you just have to find a way there? If that's the case, where do you have to start? If not, how can I fix this? I've been so ready to try this out but I'm so lost .-.
Hi! I hope I'm not too late! In your load order, Ubanga.esm needs to be first after Oblivion.esm. That done, you need to seek out some guy named Farasito in IC Waterfront, as described in the following excerpt of Ubanga1.2ReadmeEnglishAndPolish.docx (first link in "Description"):
You must go to Imperial City port and speak to a person called Farasito. (ICWaterfront) He sells ticket to Maranta City.
Alternatively, said guide suggests:
Here is a console command: cow aamaranta -12, 13
Myself, I preferCOC aaYellowPigTavern because there's ale, and an accompanying bed. :)

The programs hangs when reaching "Provinchi Maranta".
I've never had that problem before, what should i do?

Your thoughts?

I thought that it was canceled and I cried all tear of my body.
