Be sure to have textures set to Large from the game options menu. Be sure to have Oblivion installed outside of the Program Files directory, as it causes all sorts of problems with mods installations. If you want to install manually it's as easy as moving the extracted folders (meshes, textures...) into \Oblivion\Data folder. Archive Invalidation should be done after installation (search for it, if you don't know what that is, as without it not all new textures may appear - Wrye Bash will do that automatically, in OBMM you have to click in options Utilities -> Archive Invalidation -> BSA redirection -> Update Now; or you have to use some additional mods for Archive Invalidation).
Changed version number to avoid confusion (it's still the same file).
This is version 1.0 with the 1.3 patch and all fixes included. It was merged, including the original readme files because many people didn't download the separate patch. Also included in this version are PYFFI Optimized QTP3 Meshes - Fixed. If you use Unofficial Oblivion Patch which is recommended, you still need QTP-UOP Compatibility Patch from the UOP page (to be installed after UOP and QTP3R).
Most of the textures are 1K - any higher textures are bound to cause low FPS in Oblivion if you use many mods, especially mods that add new NPCs and/or new objects to locations, because Oblivion engine is not opimised for modern hardware. Oblivion Reloaded may help here http://www.nexusmods.com/oblivion/mods/45749/? Only don't turn on its POM shader as QTP3R already has parallaxed textures and they may look "doubled-up". If you don't want to use Oblivion Reloaded use other form of memory purging like Purge Cell Buffers ++ https://www.nexusmods.com/oblivion/mods/45797/? If you have 4GB RAM or more, you may also use 4GB Ram Patcher on your exe files for increased stability http://www.nexusmods.com/oblivion/mods/45576/? For additional stability use EngineBugFixes, - with this patch many types of crashes can be avoided http://www.nexusmods.com/oblivion/mods/47085/?
ADDITIONAL NOTE:
Newer Windows OS may have a problem with files with leading space - empty space in front of the filename - so if you have it in red in Wrye Bash Installer tab you may do the following (it's not necessary though, nothing wrong would happen if you don't): - open the mod archive with 7zip - go to meshes\dungeons\caves\exterior - delete the file " centrancemtnsnowlg02.nif" (the one with the empty space before filename)
Many thanks to the authors of this mod once again. Do not hesitate to give them kudos on their profile page (links are in the description).
Game looks horrendous in its original state. I came back to it after several years of not playing it, and I just can't believe how badly it has aged. Unfortunately, this mod doesn't quite help me, as it leaves too many visuals out, especially the weapons and npc textures. I can deal with the animations, lackluster combat and everything else, but man, those graphics are baaad.
1. If you use Unofficial Oblivion Patch which is highly recommended, you still need newest QTP-UOP Compatibility Patch from the UOP page, which is here (install after both mods): Unofficial Oblivion Patch
"Install after both mods" - can I just clarify you mean to install QTP3R after both of those mods, or are you saying to install QTP-UOP Compatibility Patch after both the other mods? I.e. install QTP-UOP last?
Where in the load order should this be? In comparison to unofficial patches, NAO, OCOv2, flora mods etc? I've already installed Through the Valley's mod list but I now want to add some texture mods.
Should be after UOP (and patch for UOP installed after both UOP and QTP3R). Other than than, check out conflicts (if any) and decide - probably smaller texture replacers for some specific stuff should be loaded after QTP.
Still a base install for me to build on. No issues installing with MO2, just save to wherever and use Install Mod option in MO2. One thing though I finally discovered is that with this mod installed the crates and barrel in caves ended up looking half melted. Fix for those with same issue is to delete the normals for those textures:
In textures>dungeons>misc
delete or hide dunbarrel01_n.dds duncrate01_n.dds duncrate02_n.dds
Just wondering, what does Redimized mean? there is this 1.3gb mod and there is another Qarl texture pack III but that has like 10 seperate downloads, I'm leaning towards getting the Redimized one because it's one file and seems less hassle but what is the actual difference between the two? Will I be missing out by just getting this one and not the one with a lot more downloads?
Supposedly redimized is more efficient, cleaner, less burdensome on your graphics processor. People who have used both claim redimized is just as good as the original.
Has anyone got this to work in Mod Organizer 2 (MO2). MO2 is so easy to use, however it will NOT recognize this Mod with my intellect behind installing it. Spent 8 hours + , looking all over the internet for a solution and using Control F, searching this and other Nexus Mods forums, You-tube, ect. sites for keywords MO2, Mod Organizer, & QTP3.
All I found was other people having the same issues or how great MO2 is for Oblivion, however nothing about installing one of the greatest mods QTP3 into it!
Well...., I wasn't going to let this go 8 more hours......
As we all know load order is very important! Older generations coming back to play this game one last time are trying to use new tech to make old mods and newer mods work in a newer MOD Manager. OBMM is well, OLD! I found Vortex, buggy and overwriting my files. I found MO2 easier to use, but could not get it to use archive very well. Going to provide two images and link i found very usefull. MO2 Basics read through with Pics:( https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/articles/1045 ) This guy made me extremely happy.
0. Version is Steam: Deluxe Oblivion B: I manually installed, xOBSE, engine Bug Fix,Stutter Remover. copy and paste and change some .ini settings here and there 1. My M02 load order through QTP3r (can't paste pics directly on here, that's sad. 2. You Can only run Oblivion through MO2 3. I use NVIDIA Alt+R to read fps and pc details (I like it better) (I couldn't not get steam fps counter to work, kept crashing) 4. Watch three videos on how to install Mo2, This guys is good though has 2 vid's: ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4DEzehXK1TA&t=1s ) B: Second source, basic as well ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zGBE1vGVRyo&t=20s ) 5. After installing MO2, this step is VERY important, I am not 100% sure if this was the fix, however on my second install of MO2 i did this and it worked., A. Go to Profile, click on default and create a name if you like. B. Select manage. box will pop up. C. Select the 3rd box : Automatic Archive Invalidation!!! 6. This time around, i used original OBMM to make the QTP3r into a OMAD. A. Then DO NOT Activate it! B. Cut/Copied it out of OBMM Mods file and placed it on my deks top. C. Loaded it into MO2 7. Step 6 might have been futile, however it is one step i did differently on second install. !
This image is from the first link above. The next image is as well.
Both Panel load order are very important. Don not use Loot or sort from my sources, it might seem handy, but could cause bad issues!
Yeah, like TheRomans said you might just install it manually into Oblivion/data folder as a last resort.
Even though MO2 is probably best for Skyrim, Wrye Bash is great for Oblivion. But if you have separate profile in MO2 for Oblivion already and installed other mods without problems you can install it. The mod downloaded manually can be dragged and dropped into right panel (but only when right panel is set to Downloads tab, not Plugins like in the image). Then just Rightclick and Install could be used.
MO2 may be able to handle the decompressed folder. OBMM and TESMM sometimes work with a folder when they cannot use an archive. If there are scripted/wizard/etc options that do not work with your mod manger, you can try manual assembling the options you want in a folder and suing that.
Hello! I've installed everything in accordance with the .readme, tried manually adding the files into the /data folder, and tried reinstalling the compatibility patch after installing the 7zip folder and converting it into a .omod folder. Launching the mod through vortex, OBMM, and in steam. However, despite all of these things, the textures have not once showed up in my game. Is there any other step that I could have done wrong that made it so the textures wouldn't appear?
Hello, I know this is an ancient thread, but if anyone could help me... I'm new to Wrye Bash and modding Oblivion and attempting to install this mod. I've extracted the package successfully into the installers tab and have a green plus mark. But I don't have a green check mark in the mod tab for it and don't know how to create it. There doesn't appear to be an .esp for the this file. What am I missing? Thank you.
There is no .esp. The mod only replaces texture data files. I do not know Wrye bash so I cannot help there with how it handles replacer files, I am confident it can. Check this mod's and Wrye Bash's readmes.

IF YOU HAVE PROBLEMS:
Check out this fine guide https://sites.google.com/site/khettienna/mod-user-guides/mod-use-troubleshooting
IMPORTANT NOTE:
It is advised that you use Unofficial Oblivion Patch excessive draw calls fix if you use Unofficial Oblivion Patch. Helps to avoid some FPS drops.
You may want to give Kudos to Pherim for this :)

For the convenience of installation/uninstallation AND automatic Archive Invalidation, I recommend to install this pack using mod manager designed to work with Oblivion. Wrye Bash is the best:

That is the normal load order for a patch reconciling two other mods which edit the same objects.
In textures>dungeons>misc
delete or hide
dunbarrel01_n.dds
duncrate01_n.dds
duncrate02_n.dds
