this mod broke my game. it eventually made all movement slower and slower and slower and slower and slower and never raised it back up. now my character move so slow, it's 1 pixel per second, barely perceptible. I have to assume it's this mod. I didn't even know what this mod did until now. this came as part of the "through the valleys" collection and i was playing and couldn't figure out why my character just ept moving slower and every time i tried to run backward, i got slower and slower.
I don't really get the logic of this mod. "oh, it's too OP to be able to kite the enemies. . .even though they can do it to you. you should be forced to stand your ground, fighting every enemy, standing still, unable to move, as they run rings around you and back away dodging your attacks. . oh , you're a mage or an archer? well get ready for some pain."
i mean, actually, i was kinda fine with it as i'm heavy armor user, but then it broke my game. I'm hoping disabling the mod fixes it, but then vortex starts hitting me with "your collection is incomplete", i guess i can ignore that message.
EDIT 100% confirmed, it was this mod that broke my game, because disabling the mod fixed it. I'm just gonna ignore the "there are unfulfilled mod dependencies" error in vortex.
You’re mistaken and must be referring to another mod that tries to do a similar thing.
This mod works by switching your character into walk mode and does not edit anything to do with movement speed. This was done precisely because other mods that modify your character’s speed stats can lead to the sort of effects that you are experiencing if they don’t properly undo the changes.
then how come when i disabled this mod , it fixed my game? this is the ONLY mod in my collection that i turned off. ALL the other ones are still on.
for clarity. I have the "through the valleys" collection installed.
I thought it was weird, when i was playing and my character kept switching into walk mode and i had to keep on hitting caps lock to switch back and then after a while, i just started moving slower and slower, until i could barely move at all. by slow, think of Skyrim when you're encumbered. . yeah, i was moving at 1/10 that speed.
i disable this mod and budda bing! i'm moving at full speed again.
just to explain better.
I started from a fresh install. i only downloaded unoffical patch,4 GB patcher, then through the valleys collection. when the problem occured. i diasbled this mod and ONLY this mod and the problem magically went away.
so, then, how does that happen if this mod had nothing to do with it?
it's possible that it may be i'm also using a controller, i was doing steaminput with the controller, through Steam. and this mod seemed to be conflicting with that, like sometimes walking backward would go full speed, other times, walking sideways or forward would trigger the slowness. i had to keep on reaching at my keyboard to keep on toggling caps lock on and off to be able to move.
I'm now using NorthernUI , which adds native controller support, but i'm reluctant to turn this back on, with no idea if it will conflict.
I feel like this mod is essential to make Archery not lame in Oblivion, only downside is the occasional walk-toggle issue, if you ever feel like coming back and fixing it @pushthewinbutton it'll be very much appreciated
It seems to happen occasionally when I spam the WASD keys in quick succession, eg during battle, so it unfortunately happens exactly when I least want it to happen. It's like it toggles the slow-backwards-movement on, but then forgets to toggle it off again when you move forward.
Hope it gets fixed because this mod is excellent, a must-have.
I don't know what I did, but now the mod doesn't work. The last save where the mod still worked (i.e., I couldn't run backwards) I was in front of the sideways cave near the Imperial City. The next save where I was inside the cave, the mod is not working.
Can't get this to work for the life of me. Running oblivion through MO2 and Steam. I tested to make sure OBSE is working. Not sure what else to try, I would really enjoy having this mod in my game!
Hey push great mod but i think i may have found a flaw. after blocking i find that i can run backwards. i was fighting imperial guards inside the city and every time i blocked one of there swords with my iron bow i was able to run at full speed again backwards. if i stopped moving then tried to run backwards again without blocking, my character would start walking again. then i would block, and be running backwards again until i stopped moving.

Did you follow the guide? or did you download a vortex collection made by someone else that "followed" the guide?
download as shown here
