The goal of this mod is to make playing Oblivion without map markers viable by providing directions in the journal. For a true Morrowind experience, you need a mod to remove quest markers. You can find a list of recommendations above in the requirements category.
Since my mod doesn't cover the DLCs nor side quests, you might be interested in PensivePen's Journal-Based Quest Directions as an alternative. The key difference is that my mod mainly uses cardinal directions, whereas Journal-Based Quest Directions uses environmental descriptions.
Also, someone made a similar mod for Skyrim long before I had the idea to do it for Oblivion, check it out!
V0.1 This is a proof of concept more than anything else, and so far I've only edited some entries in the Main Quest.
V0.2 Added the Dark Brotherhood and Thieves Guild questlines
V0.3 is here! Added the Fighters and Mages Guilds questlines, every major faction supported, wooooo!
What this mod does: - Add directions to journal entries - Fix some minor grammar and spelling mistakes
What this mod DOESN'T do: - Remove map markers - Alter NPC dialogue - Earl Grey tea (hot)
Compatibility: Since this mod modifies journal entries, incompatible with any mod that alters them as well
Currently the Main Quest, Dark Brotherhood, Thieves Guild, Fighters Guild and Mages Guild questlines are done. When I have a little more time, I'll look into side quests and do some testing of my own. I'll also try to add corresponding dialogue, so directions don't come out of the blue.
In the meantime, I appreciate any feedback you might have!
Whether or not you want to help me test things out, I recommend using any of the mods in the requirements section to remove quest markers. You might also be interested in No Starting Map Markers.
